Casting Down Imaginations

Updated on December 30, 2011

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5

Training our mind and bringing every thought to the obedience of Christ is not an easy task, but it is attainable. First it takes a person to be aware of the situation, second it takes a wholehearted commitment. Lastly, it takes perseverance and determination. Change the way your mind thinks. When you get a negative thought, have another one ready to immediately replace it. Say that you are struggling with jealousy or envy; first look up some verses in the bible and write them down concerning the subject. Memorize at least 2-3 verses, now this is what you will be filling that slot with. Eventually, you will not be struggling with it, and it will return less and less. Practice these tips for that nasty imagination. We all have struggled with it. It is best to get it in the beginning stages but it is never too late.

A needful hub, I am coming to realize that the subconcience mind under the conciece mind does not judge what has been but in it by thoughts, hurts, words, curcumstances etc.., but if its set on thinking a certain way it does take diligence to change its course. Good thoughts based on truth immediately change the way you feel, with continual practice we can glorify God by our fruit.

      to your victory Tony

Sky Hello Sista Blessings. I have practiced this 'scripture' memory many times over and it does work. Praise the Lovd. The one I use most often is 'I can co all things through Christ who Strengthns me' Phil 4:13 It is the best way to guard off imagination and the enemy. Love you. Great great hub awesome up Hugs galore sky.

Skye, the hardest lesson to learn for me was how to "let go and let God".
