British Israelism (Anglo-Israelism) Debunked

Updated on October 3, 2017

Disclaimer: This is not about the argument that Ashkenazi Jews are not legitimate. This is an argument against the claim that all whites alone are the 12 Tribes based on a few erroneous arguments. I said I would do this after exposing the Black Hebrew Israelites as both sides are wrong in their arguments. You will notice that this article is much shorter as unlike the Black Hebrew Israelites, because these arguments can be easily debunked with only a small amount of research as well as common sense.

Skin Color

Laban, a rich herdsman of Mesopotamia, son of Bethuel, and grandson of Mahor, Abraham's brother (Genesis 24 28-31). In Hitchcock's Bible Names Dictionary, Laban means white, or in other translations, "to be white," . "See? His name means white, so he must be white." By that logic anyone who is not named Laban must not be white. By that same logic, Eyphah, the name for son of Midian and for one of Caleb's concubines, must be dark because the name means "darkness". However that name can also mean "gloomy". What else can Laban be translated to? "shining; gentle; brittle." So their names alone do not automatically signify skin color.

Songs of Solomon 5 10

  • "My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand."

Again, you need some knowledge of Hebrew to combat this archaic English. Look this up in the Strong's Concordance. We get 6703. tsach. dazzling, glowing, clear. This is just saying that the lover is beautiful. Other translations come to this conclusion too. If this was about describing a white person among other white people, that would just be redundant.

Great Nation

Isaiah 61:9

  • "And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which Elohim hath blessed"

"See? That is America and the European countries. These are the great nations he is talking about."

Friends, read the whole chapter. Promises are here made to the Jews returned out of captivity, which extend to all those who, through grace, are delivered out of spiritual thralldom. They also don't take in context as to when this will happen. This is not saying that a sign of who the real 12 Tribes are that they would be a great nation in the end times. By that logic China must be one of the 12 Tribes. Or what about Saudi Arabia? All great nations throughout history. But greatness does not mean you are one of the 12 Tribes.

For example, the Most High raised up Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in order to punish Judah for their repeated idolatry (2 Kings 20 17-18). Later, after Babylon had fulfilled its purpose, it was judged for its own wickedness (Isaiah 13 19 and 14 4). Was Nebuchadnezzar a descendant of Jacob? By this logic he must be.

Whites Spread the Gospel

"Who has been spreading the Good Word? White people!"

Need I remind you that they have historically spread a very paganized version of the scripture, so this claim debunks itself.

Herbert W. Armstrong Refuted

I was a former fan of this man. I had downloaded several of his books on my device and I thought he was very wise and scripturally sound. But recently I figured out that he was a supporter of this ideology. I have found several flaws in his book "The United States and Britain in Prophecy", some of which I have already refuted.

Prophecy of moving to England: Gen 49:22

  • "Joseph is a fruitful bough by a well whose branches run over the wall" p46 "Over the wall is obvious proof that they would "run over, or past the nation's boundary - in other words, be a colonizing people!"

He takes this verse too literal. Using this logic, none of those branches could run to England. Only four verses later: "Up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills" which taken so literally as Armstrong had in the last verse. means that the land must have high mountains, which England lacks.

  • "The scriptures plainly tell us that Israel was to lose its identity, its religion, its land, its name. In Deut 32:26, God wanted them through Moses: I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of the to cease from among men." p69

He uses this to say that this is about whites losing their identity and forgetting that they Yasharalites. But this happened in Kings 17:22-24 when they settled and assimilated into Assyria. And these verses don't exactly mean they would forget who they are.

Armstrong's claims that the Throne of David was replanted in England via one of the daughters of Zedekiah (Jer 41:10; 43:6-8) To him, "a tender one" must mean female or daughter. "Certainly a tender young twig, then, represents a daughter" p88-89. This is a reference to the verse Ezekiel 17:22. But this is a reference to Isaiah 53 2, not replanting to England.

Blacks Are the Beast of the Field Debunked

Friends, this is possibly the saddest argument that I have heard a few times and I honestly have to laugh at this nonsense. As we speak I am on their site where they claim blacks are the beasts of the field. First, let's debunk the idea that "beasts of the field" refers to people of color.

Genesis 1 25 "And Yah made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and Yah saw that it was good."

Beast in the Strong's Concordance is 2421b. chayyah, which means living thing, or animal. But in each occurrence we are not given the description of an animal that acts like a human in every way. And if you read verse 26 it says mankind is made in his image. Not animals and man, but mankind. Matthew 15 calls a woman a dog, but it is clear that this use of the word is not saying she is a literal dog. And from what I understand the Canaanites were not black.

Now let's go to the other arguments that they have. This is an exact quote from them.

  • "Why I Hate Black People: Since the 1st Black On White Rape in the Bible When the Serpent Raped Adam & Eve, the Black Man’s Only Goal Has Been to Terrorize Us. He Hasn’t Sought to Evolve. I Don’t Hate Black People. I Hate Evil. Black People are Evil." - Ugly America (Disclaimer; this site is a very vulgar and racist site. Discretion is advised.)

First off, there is no mention of rape. Second of all, these men have no right to say anything on Genesis as they ignore key verses throughout to clearly understand it. And third, if Eve was raped, why was she punished? Genesis 3 16. And finally, where do they get the idea that this was a black man? They pulled that one out of nowhere.

I even heard someone say that only whites have souls. But that contradicts Matthew 15 18, where it says evil thoughts come out of the heart and defile us. Obviously this is not about the actual organ, so what does it mean? Our soul. So how can they commit evil? And if there is no soul, where does punishment come from in death and the resurrection?

Genesis 1 26 says man is made in the image of Elohim. All humanity is made in his image. Not just one particular race.

This is a part of the Serpent Seed Doctrine, which is debunked in the video below.

Peace and blessings, and all praises to the Most High.
