You always have a choice!

Updated on March 11, 2011

Choose to celebrate!

Life is a choice. We are never without a choice. We are actually bombarded by them every single day.
You can choose to live or you can choose to die ( but not physical death, I hope); you can choose to smile or frown; choose to love or hate; choose to forgive or choose to hold back the forgiveness.

Our everyday choices, whether major or minor spell a lot of difference in the way we see things and in the manner we carry on with our lives. As humans, imperfect as we are, we are bound to make mistakes that derail our otherwise normal flow of day.

However, in the midst of chaos and confusion and difficulties, one can still choose to be happy and be grateful at the same time. This is what I call the spirit of celebration -- when one hums peacefully in the midst of a whose heart is quiet and still even if it begs to break any time.

Some people are simply cut that way, loving life come what may. Some thrive in self-pity or bitterness or anger that life as a whole is spent on unhappy and uproductive thoughts and behaviour.

Everyday is a gift of life. This gift of life is a wonderful present that God has given us, and that alone, is a rgood eason to celebrate, to rejoice, and to be thankful for.

Is your life in a mess? That is the consequence of your past choices. Is your life full of hope and promise? That is the product of your belief system : your choices.

The most beautiful people I have seen so far, are those bubbling with inner joy and their natural tendency to be contagiously happy. The worst looking people on the other hand, even if blessed with good looks, are those who were born with jealousy, discontent, bitterness, rebellion and hatred in their hearts.

But its not the end for them. There is still hope for as long as there are still choices. Undo the negativity and go for that which is more lasting and beneficial. Turn your life into a celebration. celebrate little wins. celebrate big wins. celebrate with laughter or with tears. celebrate alone or celebrate with loved ones. whatever it is, whoever you are with...choose to celebrate!
