Christians In Iron
In the 1st book of Lamentations, we read that Zion spreadeth her hands, and there is none to comfort her.
First, how can you love somebody else if you do not love yourself?
How can you comfort someone else when you are in pain and discomfort?
Watch and listen to Pastor David Wilkerson in the video below and glean from the truths brought forth by this wonderful man of God!
This whole first chapter of Lamentations speaks of a people who were suffering because of a judgment that had befallen them.
This chapter in verse one it speaks of being lonely and shedding tears.
We find in verse two that there is none to comfort her.
This speaks of the spirit of comfort which is the Holy Spirit.
This city has opened a door for evil spirits to come in and dwell.
In verse four, we discover that it speaks of people missing the feasts or could mean church.
Her children have been placed in iron or bondage.
Does anyone see a parallel here? There is no pasture or word.
The truth is that we are not hearing much word today, only mans ideas and programs.
We have a gospel that has risen today that will allow the flesh to stay alive when God’s word says that we must die daily to our agendas, desires, and self righteousness.
We find in verse seven of this chapter that her enemies are actually laughing at her.
This can also be linked to Psalms 107 and verse ten which speaks about Christians sitting in darkness and being bound in affliction and iron.
We discover in verse eleven that their bondage is because they rebelled against the word of God, and contemned the counsel of the most high.
The old English word for contemned here means contempt as if being found in contempt of court which could bring jail time as punishment.
Let’s face it, every problem that is in the world can be found in some of the churches today.
People are living below the standards that the atoning blood of Jesus has purchased for them.
They are being led by deceptive lying spirits and they are allowing those spirits to dominate their lives.
Healing Damaged Emotions
The scriptures do not teach that a Christian is able to be possessed by an evil spirit but some have allowed tormenting spirits to come against them through their wrong pattern of thinking and the attitudes they have developed toward other believers.
It is our stinking thinking and wrong attitudes that is an open door for our enemy to keep us in bondage.
I know of a wonderful Christian lady who came from a family who was deeply involved in the occult and devil worship.
This lady can pray a whole in the sky but is still in some bondage because of stinking thinking.
She had been having bad dreams for several days but instead of using her authority against the enemy, she was known to call her elders including me about these dreams.
She was told to claim the blood of Jesus against these spirits and claim her freedom.
She was also told to refrain from giving them attention and to use her time talking about the blessings of God but she would find herself talking about these dreams as if they were entertaining to her.
Some believers think that Spiritual Authority over the Devil belongs to only a few chosen people to whom God has given special power but my bible tells me that "Spiritual Authority" belongs to all of the children of God.
We received the Spiritual Authority when we were Born Again into the Family of God.
We became new creatures in Jesus Christ when were adopted into the royal family.
Because of our decision to follow Christ, we can now use our Spiritual Authority against the enemy which is the Devil.
The enemy of our souls does not want Christians to discover the authority which we have in Christ. His strategy is to defeat us in anyway that he can.
That is why he will do anything he can to keep us from learning the truth.
He knows that when we exercise our God given authority his play ground will be over.
In Ephesians 1:3 it says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who had blessed us with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ.
“This means that in Christ all spiritual blessings belong to us. Spiritual Authority belongs to us because he has allowed us to share his glory with him and reign as Kings and Priests upon his throne.
Dear reader, just knowing and having a head knowledge of this is not enough to put the devil in his place and that is under our feet.
We must come to realize the knowledge we put into action is what will bring about results.
We must exercise our “Spiritual Authority”.
We must exercise and use the God given Authority that God has blessed us with in Christ Jesus.
Jesus said in St John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
