Online Bible Verses - 2 Peter Chapter 3: Prophecy and where we are on the timeline. When will Christ come back?
Unexpected unless we are expectant. How serious should we be about potential for and ramifications of Christ setting down on planet earth for round 2? Since the concept is prophetic and time for the daily verse discussion is short, let’s just stick with the prophetic timeline to date. Prophecy concerning His first appearance seems to make a strong case. Take a look at only a few:
Isaiah 7:14/Matthew 1:18
Micah 5:2/Matthew 2:1
Isaiah 53:4-5/Matthew 8:16-17
Isaiah 53:3/John 1:11
There are so many more.
Over time, I have become swayed by prophecy fulfilled lending credence to that yet unfulfilled. Coupled with a heartfelt need for reconciliation and faith in Christ, a decision has been reached. That decision to believe in and on Him. For a long time, my mind and heart were simply open. There came a point where belief and reliance set in. I suppose, referring again to scripture, we would call that being born again.
Finally, take a good look at one vehicle God has used to implement His plan for us all, Israel. In the context of this discussion, that it has and is the flashpoint for tension. Such an otherwise small and seemingly insignificant place, yet so entangled in world affairs. A stage for the very return we speak about today. Prophecy fulfilled to date, and yet to be fulfilled. Perhaps soon.
