Introduction

From the ancient days, according to history we have discovered that God speaks through different means to humans. This continues till the moment and that is why it is not good that one should think that it is the way God speaks to someone that he will speak to you.

Many have erred in this wise and have missed God’s blessings for their lives, they have also through this missed out of God’s plans for them because they have been thinking along the path of another person, they have been thinking that how God speaks to person Q that is the way he would speak to them.

We need to know that God also have means of reaching to each dispensation and generation. Thus, the way he speaks to generation Z would be different from the way he speaks to another generation. Albeit, one thing is sure of those speaking and it is that he speaks to make himself known to the doubtful minds and people and speaks to bring people to himself. Telling them to eschew evil and embrace good.

I will want us to do some digging into the word of God to see few means of God interacting and dealing with people.

I shall be referring to individuals and countries as found in the scriptures to emphasize the point and I trust Holy Spirit to ignite our minds to see one or more things from this article.

1. Direct Interaction – Adam

The first man, Adam was created in the image of God, while his wife was created in the likeness of the man. (Gen. 2:21-23), which makes her a secondary image of God. Because the first man was God’s shadow and as we know that our shadows cannot be separated from us, God was interacting and dealing with them directly when they were in the garden of Eden.

And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. (Gen 2:22)

We can see from the verse that it is written that brought her unto the man not that he ordered the feet of the woman to the man, no, but he takes her to him himself because they had a working relationship.

As this relationship and their communion and conversation continue, it is recorded that he used to visit them.

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. (Gen 3:8-10)

It was during the course of maintaining his relationship with them, visiting them that he got to know that they have transgressed, they have deviated from the course, they have moved out of the way.

One incredibly good thing that we can discover in this verse is that relationship requires constant communication and interaction. Thus, a family, home that would stand the test of times, a family that would withstand different weathers and come out on the other side without issues would be communicating well, their interaction would be solid.

Those who operate on distant relationship need to make use of the social media to continue to maintain and keep their relationship afloat. If they can be communicating through skype to see each other and other video contacts regularly it would be better, that would make their hearts be with each other.

Though, we know those who will do evil, cheat on his or her partner would do so, even if they are living together, but for those miles apart, this would be helpful.

Let us see some other things from this verse that shows that God was physically coming to them according to this account.

(a) They Heard His Voice

The bible says they (Adam and Eve) where they were hiding heard the voice of God.

Hebrew word for hear in verse eight is “שׁמע”, Romanized form is shâma‛ (phonetic spelling is shaw-mah') which means give ear, discern, hearken, perceive.

They heard of the rumbling sound of some things in the garden, then perceived that God was around. Making a local illustration, when a farmer (or business men) visits his farm (or company) he would be talking as he walks around the premises before getting to those he has assigned to be monitoring the farm. This perhaps would be what happened, they heard him talking about what they had been doing in the garden, perhaps commending them, perhaps saying Adam ought to have put this right and all of that. He was talking, hoping to see them around, hoping that they would come out to meet him, not that he was in the oblivion of what has happened for everything was clear unto him, he sees all things but he was doing that to stimulate their minds that he was around as his manner was.

Someone may want to say that because he was talking while walking it may mean that he does not know what had transpired. That is not true. I will like the person who is of such mind to view it in this wise.

When we were children and we do what is wrong, and our parents have seen what we have done that was wrong, they would play ignorant, they would feign it, appearing as if they did not see what happen so that we would be relaxed and after we have relaxed our minds then they will open the matter before us.

This was what God do, he plays along with them, acting as if he does not know what has happened because he wants to pull them out of their shells, he wants to get them out of their cocoons and their closets to come to him.

In the next article I shall be talking on the voice of whom they heard and showing us some things to confirm to us that God really interacted with them one on one while in the garden as revealed unto Prophet Moses which he puts down in the book of Genesis.
