Creating a New and Better America Through the Fool’s Tarot Journey.
Creating a New and Better America Through the Fool’s Tarot Journey.
Presenting this discovery tarot topic was catalysed by hearing the news that President Trump’s 100-day tenure was about to complete. I have borrowed and adapted Beth’s (littleredtarot.com) Fool’s Journey Tarot Spread to explore how we can create a new and better America. Thank you, Beth, for the use of your creation- The Fool’s Journey Tarot Spread.
My interest in creating a new and better America has arisen from not only media reporting about America here in our country but also from the conversations I have shared with fellow American friends on line.
In this Fool Journey’s Tarot spread I used the Golden Dawn Tarot Deck that was created by Israel Regardie, Robert Wand-78 Cards-AGM Muller 1977 US Games 1978. This deck is said to be of more of esoteric importance than aesthetic importance.
Let’s see what the Fool’s Journey through the tarot has to reveal for the betterment of America. I hope that if somehting worthwhile shows up in this tarot story, it serves to open up conversations between us to see what other helpful ideas may ensue to grow a pain free America. Okay, are you ready to go and take a look? Let’s go!
Q1. What does a beautiful American society look like to the collective unconscious? Princess of Swords
The popular Princess archetype seen in the movies such as Shrek and Enchanted has moved from Aphrodite, love and relationships, to the theme of the Princess being a problem solver as seen in the Hunger Games, the Hunstman and Brave.
The Princess is a female figure that is looked up to as a healer of woes on the land as represented with the Princess in the tarot card having her right hand soaked in the streaming healing green colour rising up from the green vase.
The Princess within the Princess of Swords Tarot card comes armed with a sword, looking ready to defend herself or fight for a cause. On one level this represents the resurgence of the felt need to fight for our rights, status and identity.
The sword in tarot symbolism represents the element of air which is about how we can either bind or cut with our communications. We can share ideas, thoughts and opinions. Or, we can share our speech to divide and conquer separating people in our families, communities and country.
There are three faces appearing in the Princess of Swords Tarot card. There is the face on her stomach; her own physical face; and the face on her crown. The face on her stomach is where her emotional nerve centre is. This area is about protecting and expanding her self-belief and self-value. The second face is her physical face which is about being human and that means having both strengths and vulnerabilities. The third face is on the crown of her body. This area belongs to the collective unconscious and it is where human meets the divine. That is, where one’s motivation moves from self to the collective. Here we care about ourselves but also our caring shifts to include for “the highest good of all”.
If we can find our own way to finding methods that enable us to receive or transmit the way of thinking that stems from the crown nerve centre into our stomach nerve centre, we then are able to chisel away or refine our tribal warring self so a little more of our altruistic self gets to participate in our everyday relationships with one another. That way we can contribute to building up a more beautiful and peaceful society.
We need to rebalance our public needs versus our individual needs. We somehow have to be conscious about learning from our past or mistakes so that we can get back up into the saddle to apply the right use of Will and right use of speech.
People who lie and deceive are living in a fantasy world. Deception and lies need to be overcome with tactful truths. Slandering and stalking because you can, has to stop. Its violence in action -violation of self-preserving physical, emotional and soul boundaries.
We need to give ourselves and others the permission to realize their gifts together with encouraging each other to stand tall and shine. There is a place for all of us! All because we make it so.
Q2. What is the collective unconscious most afraid of within the American Society? 2 Pentacles
We are squeezing each other out. We are choking each other. We are stopping each other. We are forcing each other to work under too many spiritual limits and constraints.
Discovering and recovering the collective unconscious is how we can expand or rewrite our everyday world views, philosophies, religion, and humanity. Our burdens are becoming unsustainable. We have to act upon decreasing our personal samsara (our suffering).
Life is a juggle. A time of plenty. A time of scarcity. Faith and a self-belief system that supports you, will cut the cross from your back.
The 2 Pentacles tarot card says to me more fun needs to happen in our lives. More of us need the support structures in place to turn our leisure loves into our paid livelihood. And to stop being forced to keep working at jobs that we hate, that don’t support us and/or don’t surround us with people who are on the same page or who want to move in same direction.
Q3. In what ways is the collective unconscious complicit in the injustices of our community? 10 Cups
The 10 Cups tarot card says to me that most of us do not or cannot tackle injustices in a direct way. The collective unconscious style of confrontation is mild and in a roundabout way.
The collective unconscious appears to be about the world of aesthetics where the drive is to explore both potential and talent in the arts domain. The arts serve the soul and keeps us human and humane. The collective unconscious is about love and passivity which are not adroit skills to dealing with everyday injustices.
Q4. How can the collective unconscious turn things around from this betrayal and complicity? 10 Swords
Apply the mind, mindfulness and right use of speech. Stop proliferating the chains of betrayal or backstabbing when the person cannot be there to defend themself. Ugly emotions spurn forth spying, rumour mongering, suspicion and the spreading real or unfounded fears.
We all are participating in the historical life cycle of where we are transitioning from the Piscean Age of being the victim to turning it around to becoming the victor. The only way now? Is upward and forward. Do not, where you can, participate in making others or yourself a scapegoat.
Q5. What practical skills/resources are available the collective unconscious to be put to constructive use for the American community? Death
The death card is about putting the past behind you. Not always easy. But to work at it the best you can do, is the way out.
The Death Card says it’s for our good to confront what scares the pants off us. We will find the way to pick up the pieces after a personal transition/transformation. We will create the belief system that will allow us to see a new perspective which is a symbol of the rise of the Phoenix out of the ashes, to create a new premise to our life from here on in.
If you treat others cruelly to build up your ego? Please stop it! STOP the violence! If your hedonistic impulses are disrupting your daily life because you have to get your fix, whether its drugs, alcohol, sex, power, you get real and take yourself off to a person or an organization to get back in charge of your life. Your practical skill-is to, “stop it”. Say, “No, no more!” and mean it.
Q6. How can the collective unconscious take care of the American community? 9 Wands
9 Wands tarot card is about “Great Strength”
America was and still wants to be the number 1 Superpower on the globe. America’s great strength trickles down into the community via fighting eruptions between neighbours, the rich and the poor, the gay and the straight and the races that prevail. The media portrays that strength is backfiring. Can each person do more to dissolve the paranoia/fear by building trustworthy connections with their families, neighbours, and community? In doing so watch your back until you feel you have justified scepticism. That is to say-fool me once but not twice. Work at sorting and sifting out what your deal breakers are and how you are going to maintain these boundaries in a non-violent way.
Q7. How can the collective unconscious take care of itself (self-care)? Magician
Learn and understand about the collective unconscious and its goals
Transform yourself into the best version of yourself so that either more can come into your life or more quality (on the same page connections) can be found and maintained in your life. Find the tools and techniques to realize your talents and make the most of them.
The Magician Tarot card is about adopting the expectant attitude that “good is on its way”. The Magician tarot card is about breaking down fears and doubts so that you once again become the CEO or Director of your life. Learn the sales skills so you can unashamedly promote yourself, whether that is to your friend, lover, partner, parent, church congregation…..BELIEVE in YOU.
Overall the numerology of this Tarot’s Story is the number nine. The number nine is the number that tells us America is going through the completion of one cycle and transitioning to a new and better cycle- a new beginning.
The number nine is also about ideals and being a humanitarian. Beauty is about the aesthetics. Beauty can be when you share yourself and your experiences with someone to offer them a hand-up, without the desire for a comeback.
The number nine is about becoming the server.
The number nine is about showing affection.
The number nine is about being generous with others.
The number nine is saying get building those stepping stones for you and others so you can experience a bright future here on this planet.
Remember, its natural. With gains, you will simultaneously experience partial losses. But with what you gain, you will have enough to create something new to you. Just learn to not expect too much from others. Step by step. Bit by bit. Can we do that?
Thank you for stopping by and reading this tarot exploration of how and where, America can be great again.
