“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petitions, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

A beautiful woman in God’s eyes knows how to pray confidently. She has a strong confidence in life because she believes in the power of prayer. This kind of woman will give no room for worrying, instead will approach God’s throne of grace boldly during her troubled days. She has a solid faith in God, that does not easily waver and she is a firm believer that God will answer her prayers. Thus, she gives a very high priority to her prayer life.

Prayer is to be the pattern and practice of our lives. We are to pray about everything as it is written in Ephesian 6:18, “And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

We are encouraged by the Scriptures to come to God continually with our needs. Prayer also involves our personal worship and adoration to God. When we practice God’s presence every day, through prayer, we can overcome very well the anxieties each day brings. Prayer indeed is one of the greatest privileges of a Christian in this life.

During the reign of the judges in Israel, prior to the times of the kings, there lived a woman by the name of Hannah who is truly a woman of prayer. Her faith indeed is remarkable and she is utterly dependent on God. Hannah looked up to God as her deliverer and Mighty Rock. She was a woman deeply troubled in life and she sought her refuge in God through prayers. Her faith is admirable and her life of prayer serves as an inspiration to many students in the school of prayer.

Indeed complete dependence on God and strong prayer life are really keys to achieving an authentic beauty.

(Bible Text: I Samuel 1:2 – 2:21)

Sister Melanie’s life of faith is deeply grounded in prayers. It is her powerful prayer habit which sustains her Christian life for more than thirty years. Her strong prayer life made her resilient throughout the adversities she encountered as a firm believer in Christ. It is the one that helps in preserving her good testimony. Today in her senior years, prayer remains her greatest refuge.

Prayer is one of the strongest weapons a Christian can have in winning the battles of life. It is also one of the greatest privileges of being a believer in Christ and this privilege must be maximized greatly. Let us cultivate our life with a strong prayer life.

In our church, I admire a beautiful sister in Christ, Corazon for her youthful look in spite of her mature age. I once asked her what is the secret of her unfading beauty? She shared her top secret, devotion to a life of prayer. I believe her since I believe in the restoring power of prayer.

A great prayer life can really help us maintain a youthful look, for prayer can help much in de-stressing our life. A life devoted to a constant communion and fellowship with God brings someone a great relief from the stressors of life, calms down our anxieties and settles all the strife within. Stress, according to some experts, contributes greatly to aging and bringing down the immune system. Release all sources of stress in our lives and let us age gracefully. It is not worth holding on to anything that pulls us down and steals us of our joy.

Let us de-stress our life and let us age gracefully, and devote ourselves to a life of constant fellowship with God through prayer.

Be victorious over all your battles, live a prayerful life.
