Bowden Road Huntsville, TX

How would you like to go to Bowden Rd. in Huntsville, Texas? You don’t know what’s so great about Bowden Rd., but you would probably say yes to that over Demon’s Road. Yes, I tricked you. Hey, at least it was in the article and not in real life.

Many people that have heard of this road do not dare to go down it. Especially when nightfall comes. This road of dark, negative energy is known for it’s satanic rituals and KKK meetings. Sacrifices have taken place on this road along with ghosts and demons roaming the area. A witness has reported coming up on a cult and saw them drinking the blood of a dog. Hitchhikers that have been on this road have disappeared and are never seen again. People swear that when night comes, there are homes there that are not there during the day.

There have been countless claims of people seeing a faceless creature that creeps along in the woods. Many people have also reported seeing red lights turning on and off. Perhaps more than one creature roams around the woods of Demons Road.

It is believed that a farmer was killed on this road back in 1890. Apparently, he was dragged from behind by his plow and was murdered in the woods by something that was summoned from hell. Fog surrounds this creature and hides in the woods with fire in it’s eyes. Are the red lights that people report coming from this creature? Interestingly, when nightfall comes and people are on Demons Road, A fog rolls in out of nowhere and follows people throughout the road.

Demons Road leads to an old cemetery known as Martha’s Chapel Cemetery. People warn those who want to go there to NOT turn off their cars. There have been numerous incidents where people’s cars have not been able to start when they turn off their ignition at the cemetery. People stress this because of reports of being attacked by the Goatman if you park your car near this cemetery. It is not known if this is the same Goatman of the Old Alton Bridge in Denton, Texas, but this creature is said to certainly be there. Is it possible that Texas has two Goatmen?

If you decide to visit Demons Road, be sure to bring some form of protection with you or say a powerful prayer. Spirits from this road have followed people home. In May 2010, a woman was at the cemetery with her husband and his friends. They saw the man, but did not really pay any attention to the wanderer. A few days later, the woman was getting ready for a shower. As she got into the shower and turned around to close the curtains, she got quite the surprise. The man that was in the cemetery was standing there looking at her. Overwhelmed with intense fear, the man suddenly disappeared. Fortunately for her, she has not seen the man since.

Curious visitors have also reported handprints that are abnormally large on their car windows. They leave for the road, and when they come back (Most do) the handprints are there.

If you’re planning to go to Demons Road, you must go at your own risk. If cults are there, avoid them at all costs. Don’t be their next sacrifice. Last and most important, have a group with you. Unless you want to confront the Goatman all by yourself.

A group of about 10 people and I were here about a couple months ago around 11:00 at night and definitely gave us a great scare. We started walking around the cemetery for about two hours until my friend decided to turn off his truck because it was wasting diesel. About 30 minutes later we hear someone walking in the woods behind the cemetery. As we began to approach the sound it immediately stops. One of my friends whistled for a response only to hear the same exact whistle. We try again and the same thing happens. The steps suddenly start to run away the opposite direction. Just right after that we hear some anchor drop or something right across the road on the other side of the cemetery. Suddenly we hear one of our friends honking their horn back at our cars dramatically then BAM! The sound of a car hitting another reaches our ears. We all run about 50 yards back to where some of our friends stayed inside their cars to find my friends diesel truck backed up against another trucks front bumper. That trucks front end was destroyed. One person was in that diesel truck but he was in the back seat because he found the Bible he was carrying to be torn and scratched up! Neither him nor my friends could find an explanation after that happened. The parking brake was also on and it was the only vehicle we turned off next to that cemetery. We moved it forward and now it was stuck on 2nd gear. We sat there for a little bit but we just couldn't get it unstuck. We decided that we just needed to get out of there as soon as possible so we drove it on second gear the whole way until we got to the main road and once again tried to fix it. The road was lonely and very heavily foggy. Everybody started to get angry at eachother because we didn't know what to do. One of my good friends Jon got the angriest he's ever gotten at his girlfriend after 4 years of knowing him. I was honestly shocked! Very long story short we ended up leaving that truck at a gas station nearby and decided we will come back for it the next day. We live about 3 hours away so it wasn't very fun. I would just say be very careful out there and don't disturb the spirits!

      Thank you Manofmystery24

Well written and researched article. Throughout the world these roads exist with blood curdling stories some just urban myths and some just unexplained. Whatever, it is wise to treat with caution, I have seen many blowhard blusterers reduced to a quivering wreck when faced with the visions they brushed aside a few hours previously.

      Voted up, awesome and interesting.

      Kind regards Peter

I have never heard of Deamon's Road before this. I am glad I know now, I would hate to accidentally find myself on this road!
