Depart From Evil

Updated on February 10, 2012

Reasons why we should depart from evil

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Proverbs 3:7-8

It will bring health to your body's center, digestive system and strength to your bones. So many people can develop ulcers and different digestive disorders just from living a lifestyle that in their hearts they know isn't right.

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. Psalm 34:14-16

According to the above scripture the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open unto their cries. So God watches out for you more than people that are not parting with evil.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28

Departing from evil is understanding-comprehension - intelligence - agreement - apprehension.

Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. Psalm 37:27

Departing from evil will give your soul rest forever.

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. Proverbs 16:17

It keeps you on the right path.

How to depart from evil

By the fear of the Lord men depart from evil. Proverbs 16:6

Besides pleasing the Lord there are many benefits in departing from evil.
