Did You Ever Talk To Self?

Updated on February 1, 2012

Did You Ever Talk To Self ?

Did you ever set and talk to Self

When all things seem to go wrong?

Did you ever then explain to Self

While I am weak he must be strong?

Sometimes in life I go ahead of Self

Before I stop and think things through.

If I would just wait for your opinion

Life could be different for me and you.

Sometimes free will gets in the way,

And somehow it seems to take control.

It is then that you and I ofttimes forget

That two halves will really make us whole.

Self , it is time that we are together,

For we both should. be of one accord.

Our decisions in each day of living

We must leave them all to The Lord.

Life would always be so much better

If by God's Laws we would only abide.

With no more Self and no more me ,

Just Self and me,as one, side by side.

The two will then make a strong whole

With no place for Satan to then creep in.

What a happy life this place would be,

With Our Jesus near and freedom from sin

God doesn't want our life to be so hectic

He wants our inner strife to quickly cease.

If we will just live our life on earth for Him,

He will fill our soul with His Precious Peace!

God woke me up this morning with the words

"Did you ever talk to Self?" By this time I know

that there is no use trying to go to sleep until I

get up and write. There are times when I have

no idea why He gives me the words that He

does, I guess it is not my place to question but

just to obey. Just like the old song says, Trust

and obey. When God gives us something to do

then we must do it NOW, not when we want to .,

but when God wants us to .!

Hi Tessie, Oh, but I do answer myself sometimes. No body here most of the times during the day . only Tawny and she doesn't talk , she just listens, but a dog is very good company , for me anyway, she follows me from room to room, when she sees I will be there for a little while she will go lay down and wait.better company than kids sometimes. Yes ,thank you ,I got your gift and card . I wrote it on one of the comments I answered . When you write a comment then I always answer back, I didn't think to tell you that , Love you talk later ,cherry

That is a great thought but most of the time myself doesn't seem to have the answers. I remember what Dad said, He said, "It is OK to talk to yourself as long as you don't start answering back" A good Poem, Message and a good job. (Did you get my Birthday Card by (Snail Mail)? Love you, Tessie

Hello Ann, this is my 2nd try to write to you ,the first one just now disappeared, when it does that it is gone ,never find out where it went to,You said you write your thoughts in a journal , that wouldn't work for me ,I would forget where I put it and never find it,Things just don't seem to stick with me anymore. I will be 83 so I guess I can expect that to happen. Do you suppose I can blame Self for hiding things from me?LOL So glad to hear from you .My daughter is 67 today, How fast time does fly . thanks for commenting .always glad to hear fro m you ,clara

Clara, when I have a problem, I write my feelings in a journal. And that's like talking to yourself. Seems like putting it on paper helps you solve things. Certainly gives you time to think. That along with prayer and meditation works for me.

      Thanks Clara...Have a wonderful day.

      Useful and interesting.

Hello Blossom, I am glad that you liked the poem,When God woke me with the words," did you ever talk to Self." I just thought that was something that would be sort of hard to write . When He wakes me up like that I lay there for a few minutes to see what I can do with a first verse ,then I get up and start trying to write , Some times it will come easy and other times you will wonder how it will turn out.I never know what He will tell me to write. Thanks for the comment. Clara

A great way of expressing that thought. I often talk to myself - I usually hope that no one else is listening. When I walk my dog I often whistle ( which probably isn't very ladylike) and one of the tunes is often Trust and Obey - there's no other way!
