Awesome Bible Reading Challenges: To Motivate more Study of the Word of God

Updated on March 26, 2015

Many times today many people including myself just go through reading a chapter from the Bible just to get through our devotional time, but at times do not really study the Word and allow it to impact our every facet of our life. Here are some bible reading challenges that will help us read the Word more and also teach us the importance of allowing the Word to change us, help us, and draw us to a powerful relationship with God.

3030 Challenge with Joyce Meyer

Well known Speaker, Preacher, Joyce Meyer offers the 30 day challenge to study the Word for 30 minutes a day for 30 days. It's not just reading it because we have to, but allowing the Word to change us. Check it out at

She offers encouraging tips from people going through the challenge, how reading the Word has impacted their lives. She also includes audio segments each day, words of encouragement, motivation and inspiration to empower us to spend time with God daily. Take a look at this video as she explains in detail about the thirty day challenge.

Nancy Leigh DeMoss from Revive Our Hearts

Nancy Leigh DeMoss is a radio host of the program, Revive Our hearts. She has ministered to countless lives calling them back to Love of the Word and the love of God. Her program really touches me to draw closer to the Lord. She is also the author of eighteen books.

On her website, she offers a 30 day Bible Challenge. All you have is go on the Revive Our hearts website and sign up and you receive daily inspiration and encouragement daily. It helps you begin this great journey of getting deeper with the Word of God and getting more out of it to apply to your life. She includes tips on how to study a bible passage such as this:

"Ask the questions, “Who, what, when, where, why, and how?” Look for the people involved. Look for the subject, event, or action. Try to determine when and where the verses were written. Determine why God wanted you to hear this message."

On the back to the Bible website they offer the 90 day challenge. The 90-day Bible reading plan combines readings from Genesis in the Old Testament, with the three Gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke. If you have never read through from Old Testament and the New Testament, this is an excellent place to start your bible reading and allow it to help you to know God.

Life, Hope and Truth website offered the challenge to read the Bible throughout for this year. All you have to do is sign up. Check out the link on the right.

I absolutely agree with you, Jamie. God wants our time with him, to be a great time with Him. I appreciate you reading my hub and for your comment.

Nice work in letting others know about these tools they can use in their walk. Let's pray that God uses them (and your writing!) to revive hearts that spend time with Him out of obligation or as you worded it - just to "get through." He never wanted our time with Him to be that way. He wants our time with Him to be invigorating, stretching, molding, creating, challenging us to new depths of understanding, and continually breathing life into us as He is alive. Good work.
