Do strongholds control you? dream interpretation

I had a dream early on in my Christian walk concerning strongholds that was very unique. The dream was given to me about 25 years ago and I remembered it again in the last couple of months as I found myself facing some limiting beliefs inside of me. My purpose of sharing it is to hopefully shed some light onto the subject.

In the dream it seems that several of my friends and myself were on a plane heading overseas on a mission trip. No more info about what we were during do I understand.

Suddenly the plane was filled with military officers, (Japanese I think, although I have no revelation on why). At the same time the interior of the plane became the interior of my home, in other words the same floor plan as the house I was living in and am still living in as I write this.

We seemed to have went to the back of the plane when the officers came and grabbed me and dragged me the center of the plane which was the living room of the house.

They threw me on the floor and surrounded me with rifles and handguns pointed at me. We must have made someone mad I thought.

As I lay there on the floor on my face is when things started changing again. I had my arms and hands under my chest pointing toward my head as you might would do so as not to expose them to further abuse.

My hands and arms started vibrating strongly and progressed to almost beating the floor under me.

A groan or almost a growl started coming from inside me till boldness filled me and I jumped to my feet.

As I came to my feet and looked at the officers that surrounded me, they had changed into you might have guessed, strongmen. They were all body builders pumped to the max. I’m now getting revelation as I write this, I probably built them by my thoughts and actions. They, none the less were in control.

I started scanning their eyes one by one as if to challenge them, some of them I knew I could easily overcome, some of them still intimidated me somewhat and I knew they had more power over me. I really felt commissioned to overcome them all, some would just be harder than others.

Strongholds are not hard to define, but sometimes hard to pinpoint because they can be tied together with other strongholds or hide behind something you think is wholesome.

In my understanding a stronghold is a fortified set of thoughts and beliefs set up in your mind and in your circumstances. They are not part of your God given makeup, they are squatters or trespassers. They are there living on your land and inheritance, your space. They are using your mind, your stuff, your strengths, and your power to exist because they have none on their own. And yes they can be very demonic giving open doors to activity of spirits that just want to use you. They are definitely illegal occupants, and can be legally removed by you when you see them and make a firm commitment to do so.

They can range from things like additions of drugs or alcohol, additions to lustful thoughts, eating additions, spirits of murder (even if just wishing someone dead ), paradigm of inadequacies with work and talents, lack and poverty, co-dependences, manipulation from others to feel loved, defeating thoughts because of physical limitations. You can add to the list so much more but remember these are fortresses set up inside your thinking, they are only reinforced by others responding to your thoughts about yourself and circumstances.

Jesus and John the Baptist started off their ministries by saying ‘Repent’ meta neo, change the way you think,. Paul admonishes to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Again whatsoever things that are pure, lovely and of good report, think ye on these things.

Our minds play a big role in the life we live. I not necessarily talking about the physical brain, but the heart and mind of the soul.

This mind of soul causes the words we speak, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. We can talk the talk in the right atmosphere, but back us into a corner or let circumstances overwhelm us and we will speak the things we really believe that’s embedded in our heart or mind. What’s in your heart and mind will always manifest by the action of either speaking or doing things a certain way. It will come out of the hidden realm into the physical realm and therefore produce fruit, good or bad in your life.

You know when the children of Israel were to take their promised land they had to fight for it. We have been promised the mind and inheritance of Christ and have been given Holy Spirit to lead us into it, but it will be a fight. You must take up your cross daily and die to your old feelings and opinions. Don’t substitute church activity and religious views for repentance. Obey the first command and change your thinking, the goodness of God wants to manifest through you.
