Does the World Start Making Sense After Your Teenage Years End?

Updated on November 12, 2018

Are you mature?

The universe owes us nothing, we owe the universe everything. Having born with the right religion, just means you are born with the answers, but answers or no answers, they would be of no use unless we ask the right questions.

To answer this question, yes the world does start making more sense once your teenage years end, however that doesn't mean it gets easier. No doubt age is just a number, but there is a reason why we have demarcated a set limit after which kids are considered adults, after which the state allows them to make their own decisions, does something magical happen overnight? Do they turn 20 and suddenly they can think like an adult?

The thing is, even though age doesn't say much about one's maturity, time does bring acceptance, and in the end it all comes down to acceptance really. We all take different times to fully understand the universe but within this stipulated time, we learn acceptance. We accept the mechanism with which life works, we accept that life isn't fair, it is never predictable, things can always go more worse, you can never be 100% prepared for anything, perfection may never be achieved, happily ever afters may never come, and despite all of that we accept that we still have to keep going and keep striving.

Every emotion, ever feeling we feel in our heart, every action that's been done to us, every circumstance that we face, it's been personally custom designed for us, it's our test, our challenge and only we alone can face it, can conquer it or get defeated by it.
Things don't change as we grow older, it doesn't get easier, the challenges only increase, but with age comes this certain tranquillity, if done right, time teaches us the most valuable lesson. And its the art of learning to accept. Accept our flaws, our inadequacy, our limitations, our bad luck, and accepting doesnt means feeling dejected and doing it, its just means acknowledging the problem at hand so we can start putting efforts in overcoming it, and separating things that our out of our control from the things that are not.
Our insignificant existence can not break laws of physics.

Which level of maturity are you?

Life works in circles, everything must end how it began, everything has three levels, level one is very similar to level three but then again exact opposite. But level two is where most of us are stuck on. Level two is unlike other levels.

Lets take a simple example, you know which weddings have the most bling and spark, either the ones that are really poor or the ones that are really rich. The only difference is, the rich ones have the real deal. The middle class people will go for simple elegant. Now that's a lot of generalisation, but it's all a theory.

Or take this if you wanna go out and party at a very risky place according to your mum, but your mum gives you permission , then she is either on level one or level three . Level one of love being she just doesn't care that much, level two being she cares and that is why she wouldn't allow you to go, level three being she cares, but she thinks of your happiness over her prejudice against a place and she let's you go. See how the circle completes ?

It even works with food? You know which people eat pure organic food? High end wealthy folks or poor farmers. The level two people don't.

Or the most famous of all, when you are a baby , you are weak and dependent (level one) you grow old, you gain strength, you stand on your own two feet (Level two) and then you grow old again, this time you are on the other extreme of age but you become childlike again (level three) ; thus completing the circle of life.

It's the same with maturity, when you are little, you trust everyone, you are happy, you believe you can do anything (level one) you grow old, people hurt you , things disappoint you and you start building walls , being cynical (level two) but if you allow yourself to grow from that level you'd realize it's okay to trust people, it's okay to dream big or get hurt, this is part of life and inevitable so you go back to trusting more people (level three) but this time with the wisdom of level one and two.

Now not everyone gets to live all three levels, and most of us are stuck on level two. But if one becomes mindful of their actions they can easily spot the patterns. The extremes tend to always be similar just how a circular colour spectrum would start merging from the ends. The line between the villain and the hero is thin, they both have courage, they both strive for what they believe in, it's the cowardice that are despicable.
