Don’t liken God to man when giving.

Rooftops - Jesus Culture (lyric video)

God will look beyond the offering basket

Give with a cheerful heart. Just remember that man only sees what you are putting into the offering basket. This is why you see those who offer much in church getting some praise from the congregation and management while those who give little tend to be somewhat ignored by everyone in the same church. God however looks beyond what you contribute . He checks at what is in your heart regarding this offering. That is the reason that we should give willingly and with a cheerful heart because God is not fooled.

Newsboys - God's not dead

Don’t let God down because he always boasts of you to Satan

Maybe you have ever lent somebody some money and he fails to pay you back. Now if the same person was to come back to you hoping for some more loan money from you, I am sure you would think twice before extending this new help to him. He failed to pay you in the first instance. How sure are you that this time round he will be more cooperative? God is however very different in that even those who don’t offer much, are still not denied of his blessings. Even those who cheat in their tithes are still not locked out of his blessings. However this does not mean that we should be stingy with our money. He boasts of his faithful servants so much that we should not be found to let him down (Job 1: 8-12).

Kari Jobe - Forever (Live)

Giving sparingly only leads to receiving sparingly.

When it comes to offerings ensure that you give as you had purposed in your heart. God will not force you to give him what you had not purposed. Don’t feel compelled or forced to give what you had not purposed. However remember that the less you sow the less harvest you must expect. He knows all our income and therefore is well aware of what we withhold from him. There are clear benefits of giving towards God’s agenda. For one, cheerful givers are fully supplied by the almighty God. They lack nothing in life. There might be a need you want met by God even as you give. He is able to meet not only your necessities but well beyond your expectation. He also ensures that a cheerful giver never lacks the money he intends to donate to worthy causes. God is well aware of those with a giving heart and would therefore not let them down financially.
