It was the look that set the hook

Don’t allow the look to set the hook.

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
Genesis 3:6

It was the look that set the hook.

How do we fall for the trap? It’s easy. It starts with the look. You see and ad for porno on the internet and look too long then comes the desire for just a quick look. Just once out of curiosity you want to see. Next thing you know you’re hooked. Just to try a drug once with the “in crowd” to see what it’s all about. Then you become and addict and lose your job, your family, your life. You end up living on the street. You look at a co-worker and their sexy attire and decide to go over for a talk. You begin to fantasize about them. Finally you are in an affair that destroys your marriage. You go shopping and are attracted to an ad. You look too long then believe you have to have it to be happy. Guess what? Yup you end up in debt up to your eyeballs (I always have a meal before going shopping, make a list of what needs to be done and guess estimate how much it will cost. Then I take that much CASH with me. I use a calculator as I pick out what I am buying so I don’t overspend. THAT is a great way to avoid overspending.).

The day is done, The sun has set, Yet light still tints the sky; My heart stands still In reverence, For God is passing by Ruth Alla Wager

We can’t help but glance at attractive things but here is the best weapon to fight the devil: The more attracted I am to Christ, the less attractive the world is. Spend time every day reading your Bible, listening to Christian music, listening and watching Christian videos on GodTube, Praize, OnePlace and Crosswalk. As you engage in these activities you will find the world less and less attractive and Christ more and more attractive. As a bonus you life will be filled with a lot more joy and peace.

"If you live close to God And His infinite grace, You don't have to tell; It shows on your face." anonymous

Prayer: Please Jehovah Rohi (The Lord our Shepard) please guide my steps along the trail You have so wisely chosen for me to follow. When You see my eyes begin to stray use Your staff to pull me back into Your flock and Your rod to beat back the satanic wolves seeking to destroy what You have made Holy. In the name of our great and simpleShepard Jesus Christ we humbply pray. Amen.

May the sweet sunshine of Jesus’ love bless you today and every day.

Thank you for your kind encouragement.

I am still very excited about it.

It was like all the pieces came together in one week.

I had writen the meditation about a year ago but didn't know how or where to publish it.

It all came together within three days last week.

      God bless you

That is awesome news about your book! You will have to publish a hub on the experience. God bless your efforts and may others find peace through the book.

      You're welcome.

I am making a book of Christian meditation and a publisher is very interested.

The wrining is done and photo's chosen from my photography shots.

Now the writing will be put on the flower shots to make a book.

I am very happy and wanted to share it with someone.

      Hope you don't mind.

      God bless you.

Great advice for keeping focused on what is important in life. If we remove our gaze from Him, then we will wander off the proven path. Thanks for sharing.
