Dream Interpretation and Analysis

Updated on March 8, 2015

Our brain controls every activity that we do. Everything that we are capable of doing will be impossible without our brain doing its task. Everything that we see, smell, do, feel, and comprehend is powered by our brain. Dreaming is one of the many activities our brain is capable of.

What Are Dreams?

We dream when we are asleep. Some dream experts say that dreaming is a regular part of our lives to the extent that we dream every time we are asleep. It is just that we don’t recall them when we awoke and hence, we never really notice that we are dreaming.

Dreams are one of life’s most intriguing mysteries. For people who have high regard for mysticism, dreams are a voice from beyond or a divine intervention. For people who are more rational, it is the subconscious mind helping the conscious mind work through the events of life. For people who are skeptical and disbelieving, dreams are nothing more than just a part of the sleeping process and hence, dreams do not hold any importance or meaning in our lives. Whatever your belief is, dreams are very real in our lives and they are sometimes hard to ignore.

So, Do Dreams Have Any Importance In Our Lives?

According to many sources that specialize in dreams, our dreams hold the key to our fears and desires. Our dreams can show us our deepest fears and desires that we may or may not be aware of. Dreams also help us understand more about the world around us.

As another individual, it is up to you if you will hold any importance in your own dreams. Whether you hold any importance to it or none, it will not affect the existence of other people. Your own dreams will only affect you. Whether you try to understand it or not, it only affects you as an individual. So, the answer will vary from one person to another. And because not everyone shares the same sentiment about dreams, the answer can never be universal.

As humans, each and every one of us dreams. And therefore, dreams can be both fascinating and intriguing. For many who are fascinated by it, they try to find out the meaning of their dreams. So, it is safe to say that dreams can be important in our lives if we hold an importance to them and dreams can be unimportant if we don’t hold any importance to them.

Interpreting our dreams

More often than not, our dreams are weird. Why are they weird? It is because our subconscious mind is primitive. And that is why our dreams seem to be illogical for us to understand. We have a hard time understanding our dreams because we think using our conscious brain. And the conscious brain cannot make out what our subconscious is actually conveying.

Our dreams are usually symbolic. Hence, the important symbols in our dream must be understood if we are to interpret our dreams rationally. Therefore it is important to identify important dream symbols and translate their true meanings.

Using dream dictionaries

We all have unique experiences in life. Our experiences are stored in our conscious and subconscious brain. Using a dream dictionary can help you gain insight and gain a deeper understanding as to what your dreams are trying to convey. Because we are all humans and we are all part of a civilized society, we have one way or another, similar experiences in life. Dream dictionaries are somewhat universal in interpreting the symbols of our dreams. Interpreting and understanding your dreams have got to start somewhere and dream dictionaries can be of help to your quest in understanding your dreams better.

Do dreams have meaning?

Dreams can be mysterious and people have different beliefs about dreams. Some people believe that dreams have meaning and some people believe that dreams are just a part of the sleeping process. It is up to you if you will believe that your dreams have meaning or none. If you are one of those people who believe that dreams do not hold any significance in their lives, then feel free to forget about your dreams. But if you are one of those people who believe there is some meaning in their dreams, then feel free to analyze and interpret your dreams. It can’t hurt anyone to look for ways to understand dreams.

Your dreams can be meaningful or they can be meaningless; the choice is up to you. You can hold importance to your dreams or you can shrug them off as just part of the sleeping process. Not one opinion is better than another because ultimately, you are in control of your own beliefs.

Last night I dreamt I was in a huge open field with buildings on the outskirts. ..people were screaming and afraid, so I howled and 3 wolves and a tiger came to me and wrapped themselves around me and licked my hands and face, and people were shocked to see this, I was at peace and felt very loved and protected
