Spiritual Blessings In Jesus Christ!

Ephesians A Case Study In God's ETERNAL KINGDOM

Ephesians is a marvelous, awe-inspiring Epistle written by Paul to the saints in Ephesus. It is also for the Church today. There is a wealth of wonderful wisdom continually disbursed throughout the Book of Ephesians. Paul writes to strengthen, enlighten and encourage the Church to give them Hope. Rather than depicting the Church as just a mere organization it brings to view God’s Church as a vital imperative ever growing organism. God's Church consists of a vast collective of people from all races and cultures from all over the world. His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ being the Head of His Church, His Body and His Bride!

We as believers are God’s children and have become a part of His Eternal Kingdom. The key scripture: “There is one body and one Spirit just as you were called to one Hope when you were called to one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism; one God and Father of ALL, who is over ALL and through ALL and in ALL.”

Ephesians is one of my favorite books. It is a marvelous wellspring flowing with many invaluable life sustaining principles. I highly recommend it to new believers as well as anyone else who wants to know just how wonderful it is to know Jesus. It is a wonderful book that one can eagerly indulge in to become spiritually enlightened.. There is an endless array of spiritual insight to be uncovered. Here you can discover about your eternal destination and predestination. In God’s time we are adopted as His children. God knows before we are born who belongs to Him. “In Him we were also chosen, having been predestinated according to the plan of Him who works everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, Who were the first to HOPE in Christ, might be the Praise for His GLORY.”

We must not get sidetracked from God’s intended purpose for His Church! Paul starts out with a warm wonderful hearty reassuring salutation; “Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the Father our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every SPIRITUAL BLESSING in Christ. For HE CHOSE US in HIM BEFORE the creation of the world to BE HOLY and blameless in HIS sight…” Before going any further one needs to “camp here,” meditate here, pray here and absorb the invaluable significance of this magnificent TRUTH!

Sealed by His Holy Spirit

Through Jesus Christ we have immeasurable benefits. These are not necessarily benefits that one can see with the natural eye. There is a reservoir of deep spiritual blessings. There is nothing that compares with them, especially since they are of a heavenly source. God is omniscient and totally aware of everything. God alone is Sovereign! Now that’s deep!

Once we sincerely accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior we are adopted into the family of God. God's family is His International World Wide Church. We are to represent Him in the world. We are not to blend in with the world. Today is not always easy to distinguish His Church from the world. This is why it is so important to continue to study His Word. As we develop our personal intimate ongoing relationship through His Holy Spirit we are able to grow spiritually. We are better able to digest His Word. His image begins to quicken within us. We begin to walk in the Light. We also become more aware of who He is and what our life purpose is.

We are not “Saved” because we deserve it! It is a precious invitation that is extended to “whosoever will, let him come...” We have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus. We are chosen for His plan of Salvation and Eternal Life which is a precious gift that Jesus paid for with His life. He died upon the cross for the sins of the world. As believers; “Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession, to the PRAISE of HIS GLORY!”

Purpose of the "Gifts!"

It is by the work of the Holy Spirit within us our minds and hearts are opened and He begins to reveal to us the TRUTH of His Divine and Holy Word. “For it is by GRACE we are SAVED, through FAITH, and this is not of yourselves, but it is the gift of God, not by works so NO ONE can boast…” This is what is so wonderful about God. Our true identity is in Him not in any institution nor legalism. His abiding Holy Spirit is available to lead us to all TRUTH!

We the people are His Church; not the building. We are also supposed to worship Him within our homes. Here He is to be lifted up as well. We are supposed to talk about Him and welcome His presence all around us. God has not left us alone to fend for ourselves. He has given His Church "GIFTS!" They are for the "And He gave some; Apostles, and some Prophets; and some, Evangelists; and some, Prophets; and some, Pastors, and Teachers; Perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the BODY of CHRIST" Ephesians 4. Being a follower of Christ Jesus is a daily lifestyle. It is good to continue to make yourself aware that God really is everywhere; He is omnipresent.

No matter how much one learns there is always so much more to know! Life really is about how we live before the Lord on this side of Heaven. It is important to know who you are in Christ Jesus. We can freely approach God humbly yet with confidence. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in the inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by Faith…”

In Ephesians Paul marvelously expounds upon GOD'S GRACE. The fullness of God is Awesome. In Him we can become complete. In HIM is everything that you will ever need for Life, Living & Eternal Life. Although we are saved we must continually ask to be filled with His Holy Spirit, this keeps us forever dependent upon Him. God has made us all uniquely different with various strengths and weaknesses. As we grow in His Grace our strength in Him is no match for any weaknesses. In Him, "we are more than conquerors through CHRIST JESUS our LORD!"

Grieve not the Holy Spirit

We are called to be children of the Light and our actions should reflect our faith and trust in the Lord. Many of the ways of the world have nested within God's Church. The Perilous Times are now upon us. As believers we must "Walk in the Light!" Pray for Discernment. Continue to stand upon the principles of God. Whenever you are persecuted, mistreated, slandered, maligned, falsely accused, sad or lonely and misunderstood rest assured knowing that God knows. It is a good t time to turn to the Lord. It is so much more important what God knows about us rather than what others think they know! This really becomes a perfect time to cling closer to Him and remember “The TRUTH WILL set you FREE!”

Man quite often judges by outside appearances.

Put on the New Man

You may, or should I say will eventually at some point get angry. But when you do, handling it God’s Way means exercising self control! The enemy will strategically put many obstacles, situations as well as people in your path attempting to get you off course. The Spiritual Warfare will also heighten against you. But don' fret. The Lord is omnipresent. You will learn how to better rely on His Comforter His Holy Spirit. One must really become prayerful and even more discerning. In all things, seek God’s direction. Patience truly is an understated virtue as well as part of the Fruit of His Spirit. As you practice being patient it becomes easier to daily embrace. One cannot achieve spiritual disciplines without the Holy Spirit! It is possible, Paul tells us “to be angry and sin not. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath…”

One must focus on the Lord in order to remain calm in the midst of mistreatment and when attempting to handle anger properly. The more you try to explain the more you are misunderstood in some cases. Just know Jesus was gravely misunderstood as well. Knowing that He knows It really is not all about us. Its about Jesus! Paul tells us to put away corrupt communication, bitterness and anger. There are healthier ways to release anger rather than allow it to “stew and fester,” this only leads to bitterness that is self destructive. In many cases this is why so many become depressed. Depression is anger turned inwardly!

We are to liberally use God's Word. He wants to be a part of every area of our lives. We are not to compromise His principles. He encourages us to instead minister to one another… In the various denominations and non denominations that means different things. Not everyone will be receptive. Often their traditions are the way. For some there are very few moments if any of stillness. Learn how to pace yourself and be able to worship the Lord wherever you worship. Remain Prayerful. The Lord also tells us Be cognizant of what is goin on around you and stayed in tuned to the Lord. Know God's Word for yourself. It is important to begin to learn how to bridle your tongue and not just say whatever you feel without thinking. Sometimes it’s better to just say nothing at all… There are times we are to observe.

"PRAY WITHOUT CEASING" this keeps you connected to the Lord. Think; is it your intent to hurt, control, dominate or bring healing?

Having God in your life and resolving issues and problems His way yields much inner Peace! It is important that one becomes increasingly aware of God’s Omnipresence! He is everywhere we go therefore it is far better to live to please Him! Through His Holy Spirit we are given spiritual strength to endure life’s many challenges… “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that works in us, to Him be GLORY in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever…”

Ephesians was written to the Church at large and not just to one person. There is viable information to help us today. God has not changed. But worship continues to change and adapt sometimes according to the lastest trends. There are many types of worship songs. They all do not always minister to the same people. Listen attentively and keep your focus on the Lord. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. We have the freedom to participate on various levels. It is important to keep yourself adorned in the Spiritual Armor. This prepares you for

Many strive for popularity, prestige and recognition rather than seek for God’s approval. These things within themselves are not bad, but we must know that man is fickle and inconsistently changes so very easily. One must pray for discernment and daily adorn the Armor of the Lord. Know God and His Word for yourself. As believers we are to seek the will and way of the Lord above all else. Therefore it is important to know that through the Lord we really have everything we will ever need. He really does know everything we think, say do or do not do and why! "THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE!"~

It is been said that the Church of Ephesus was started by the ministry team of Priscilla & Aquila they were a great example of a husband and wife team who labored together and the Church met in their home. One is never mentioned without the other in the Scriptures! Paul later came to Ephesus and helped to further establish and encourage them. Today we have a wide assortment of congregations throughout the world both large and small. Mega to storefront in size, the congregations range from the thousands to a few hundred and sometimes much less, the growing, numerous denominations vary just as much. Denominations & non denominations are the results of division and the splitting of congregations. Always remember that in the eyes of God there is only one Universal Church that belongs to Him.

What is most important is the quality sound Bible teaching and preaching one receives! It is also important one must keep in mind that we the people are God's Church, not the building of “brick, mortar and stucco” here is where we come together and congregate to worship, fellowship and Praise HIM! Jesus is not coming back for a Church built by hands. “Know your body is the temple of the Living GOD!”

Ephesians talks about fornication, covetousness, idolatry, adultery, drinking, marriage as well as submission. Instructions as to how children, and parents should relate to one another to name a few and so much more. It becomes increasingly clearer that we who claim to be believers need to know God’s Word, embrace and apply His principles within our lives daily! Yes, “We are “in the world but not of world!” We are a part of God’s ETERNAL KINGDOM! As children of God we face an opponent that wants to defeat us anyway he can…. To divide and conquer is also one of his tactics, notice just how many families and marriages are being torn apart in this 21st century... Paul prolifically concludes Ephesians by encouraging us “To be strong in the Lord and His MIGHTY POWER. Put on the full armor of GOD so that you can take your stand against the devils’ schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms. Therefore put on the whole armor of God, and after you have done everything to stand, Stand firm….” One must always continue in prayer, praying unceasingly and keep in mind; On Christ the SOLID ROCK I stand all other ground is sinking sand…… “To GOD Be The GLORY!”

Thanks for an encouraging Hub. I like Ephesians because it's such a short book to read. I am very encouraged by a scripture you wrote which I know so well, but haven't thought of it for a while. The verse that says, God is able to do exceeding abundantly than that which we ask or think. Thanks, this has encouraged my heart today.

      Have a lovely weekend. :)

Unchained Grace, Ephesians truly is a book of encouragement and instruction. It contains marvelous principles for life and living God’s WAY!

I too have seen many fall prey to pharmaceutical dependency. In some extreme cases it becomes necessary to balance the depleted neurotransmitters in the brain…. However more often than not it serves to cover up and underlying problem. It is of late in this 21st century that there is a growing dependency of both legal and illegal drugs to pacify and control. Lord Help! GOD IS ABLE! As you so wisely stated: “the alleged "professionals" they seek out provide only that which "masks" the symptoms while never locating, identifying and neutralizing the core issue. Because it makes them feel "better" temporarily, neither the "professional nor the substance never seeks to resolve the problem(s) which are the foundation of the depression.

Yes, Rather than get to the root of the problem and source of true inner healing where Peace of mind resides. All too often many would rather give others a “piece of their mind”…. God has a remedy! He KNOWS everything that any and everyone has experienced! The key to true inner healing resides in Him! It is so important to seek him above all else….

Thank you for your visiting and sharing your insightful comments! I am sure others will be blessed by them as well, Blessings!

Rev Lady, Hello to you as well! It is wonderful and quite comforting, knowing that we can be one through Jesus Christ! Thank you for bringing out that great point about "the dividing wall of hostility” being broken down… There are so many "precious nuggets" in Ephesians! One must take the time to taste, savor and digest its many nutritious spiritually nourishing benefits! Thank you for shining more light here! Be encouraged as you encourage others!

Yes! Let’s us continue to “live to please the Lord” He truly is worthy! Thank you for sharing as always, Blessings!

It is well with my soul!

In many ways, RevLady, we who write within this category are much like Paul. We write to encourage, worship, praise and teach others. Our little "epistles" (Hubs) serve to help others. Who knows if the Hub we write today won't be seen by one who needs to see what God says about something we're struggling with right now!

DeBorrah, I've always seen Ephesians as both a book of encouragement and instruction. Guidance in developing our relationship with Jesus. The point you made through Paul's writing concerning anger and depression needs to be really understood by those who lean on expensive pharmaceutical options in an effort to rid themselves of depression. the alleged "professionals" they seek out provide only that which "masks" the symptoms while never locating, identifying and neutralizing the core issue. Because it makes them feel "better" temporarily, neither the "professional nor the substance never seeks to resolve the problem(s) which are the foundation of the depression.

Hence, the patient is now more dependant on Dr. Doughnut and his mixed dozen of "creamy delights" as opposed to God.

Dependancy then becomes idolatory. We have now become "of the world."

Deborrah, I thank you for this. Many will find it a blessing. Many more will see it as something they needed to read. God will see it as your forever obedience in Him.

      Hi DeBorrah.

I think what I appreciate most about Paul's letter to the Ephesians is that he presents God's eternal purpose to save men through faith in Christ emphasizing that the "the dividing wall of hostility" between Jews and Gentiles has been broken down through the cross of Christ. May we continually strive as Paul extols us to live as worthy, true Christians.

      Blessings, Thank you!

      Forever His,
