Exorcism and Deliverance Part II

Updated on March 9, 2018

Fervent Prayer over inferior evil powers

Part II

Love is powerful! “God is Love!” The Lord’s presence is necessary for spiritual healing to take place. Deliverance & Exorcism are forms of spiritual surgery! God the Master Surgeon is able to remove or exorcise the unwelcomed presence. In order to pray in the Spirit and intervene when one is bound by evil spirit(s) it is ALWAYS necessary for one to be spiritually centered.

Spending time with the Lord in prayer and consecration is important!.This is really nothing to play with. One must become a usable vessel of sanctification for the Lord. This is a time of passionate sincere focused petitions of prayer. Praying in silence is also good. One must first examine themselves and humble themselves before the Lord. Confess and ask God’s forgiveness for any known or unknown sin that may hinder them from hindering the process of deliverance. Keeping in mind “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18

One must pray and ask for the infilling presence of the Holy Spirit. “And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the HOLY SPIRIT, and they spoke the WORD of God boldly.” Acts 4 Jesus promised us that He would dwell and be with us and teach us. John 14 We are sealed with the promise of His Holy Spirit! Ephesians 1. The Holy Spirit is the Ultimate Comforter and Counselor who guides us to ALL TRUTH. John 16. The Truth really does set you free!

The discerning of spirits is a God given gift bestowed upon some with the ability to recognize when a presence is not of God. it is the opposite of divination. It is most helpful! It is a GIFT to be sincerely thankful for. It causes one to often be very cautious. You must also at times learn to be very still. There are times that the Lord will tell you to not even speak. It is a Gift that requires discipline. You must allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. He will help you to discern if something or someone's actions is not of God. This is not a subjected guess. Know you will not always be received or understood. THANK YOU LORD! It is a revelation that comes by Divine authority. “to another FAITH by the same Spirit, to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the DISCERNING of spirits…” I Corinthians 12

Fasting, praying and sanctification again before, is part of the preparation process. There are times that we must fast and pray for a short and or long periods of time. We fast and make the sacrifice to "Give Up!" food or something in order to receive and answer or direction from the Lord. This should be the case whenever we serve and or minister for the Lord! It is important that one should meditate on the Scriptures fervently and dedicate consecrated time in preparing to read them. We serve a Holy God! We want to do everything decent and in order! Remember His Word is “Alive!” Many Scriptures from the Psalms and other Books of the Bible are All pertinently relevant.

Here are few for starters:

Psalms 91 “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty...”

Psalms 92 “It is good to give Thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to your name, O Most High; To declare Your loving kindness in the morning, And your Faithfulness every night…”

Psalms 93 “The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established…”

Psalms 97 “The Lord reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitudes of isles be glad! Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.”

Psalms 103 “Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His Holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul!”

Psalms 105 “Oh give Thanks unto the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him…

Psalms 108 “O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.”

The anointing of oil and laying on of hands in the Name of The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit are always appropriate. Both are symbolic of The Divine influence and Omnipresence welcomed. The oil nor the hands have any power in themselves. It is a show of support and request for a “Touch” from the Lord in only a way that He can and that His WILL be done! It is important to not let just anyone lay their hands upon you. “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, “If you abide in My Word, you are MY disciples indeed. And ye shall KNOW the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free...” John 8.

Let us remember to give Thanks and REJOICE in ALL things! “O give Thanks unto the LORD for His mercy endures FOREVER…”

The “Apostles Creed” is a bold statement of FAITH! Faith is the key that unlocks the door to heaven. “Without Faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11

I Believe in God the Father Almighty, The Maker of Heaven and of earth and in Jesus Christ the only Son of our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified died and was buried. The third day He arose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, The Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints. The forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body for life everlasting, AMEN!

It is important that we keep in mind that God is absolutely and utterly aware of everything everywhere! There is a continual attempt to compromise and water down the Truth of God’s Word! There is much sensationalism and emotional outbursts that often appear as though it is power from above. But it is rather quite superficial and only causes a momentary emotional response lacking depth or a lasting effect. Sometimes it reinforces a stronghold. It actually hinders more than it empowers! We must pray for increased discernment! Because of this there is much division in His Church. Many have been and continue to be deceived. “The Spirit clearly says that in latter times some will abandon the Faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons…” I Timothy 4.

False teaching and teachers serve to attempt to undermine the credibility of GOD’S Church and HIS OMNIPOTENCE and is a great cause for much of the demoniac activity that goes on… The entire Bible is God’s inspired Word. It is our safeguard against false teachings. “I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His namesake. I write you fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning, I write to you young men , because you have overcome the wicked one, I write to you because you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.” I John 2

There are many cults within and on the outskirts of God's Church.

We as God’s children, His Universal CHURCH are faced with this unspiritual army of imps & demons that wants to destroy and defeat CHRIST'S CHURCH the body of true believers! In ourselves we are no match! Through the power of His Holy Spirit we can accomplish much working together in unity in the Name of Jesus! God always knows who belongs to HIM! Only Christians are given the authority over demons. We are in need of the ongoing infilling presence of His Holy Spirit and the spiritual armor. The battle is not ours it is the Lord. In CHRIST JESUS there is VICTORY! The battle and the war has already been won! The gates of hell will not prevail against GOD’s HOLY CHURCH! Matthew 16.

Alpha & Omega are the first and last letters of the Classical Greek alphabet signifying God is the Beginning and the End, meaning He is Eternal! The Scriptures say: “I AM The ALPHA and the OMEGA, The Beginning and The End. The First and The Last. Blessed are they that DO HIS commandments and they shall have a right to the tree of life… The GRACE of The Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” Revelation 22.

Live everyday; "To GOD Be the GLORY!

TonyatHubPages, Yes demons tremble in the presence of the Lord! When we truly love the Lord we have no need to be afraid..."Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world..." Fasting, "Praying and sanctification again before, is part of the preparation process." Jesus tells us in His Word " Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have Faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting" Matthew 17.

Thank you for visiting and sharing your comments as well as the additional scriptures which are always helpful. In His love, Peace & Blessings!

I noticed some comments about displays of strength and effects like in the movies.

"The Exorcist" is fiction even though it may be based on actual events.

Those displays come from a lack of understanding of a few scriptures...

Ps 18:44 As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

45 The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

Lk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

There is a situation wherein there is some acting up going on...

Ac 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

That was caused by not being a believer.

      Demons leave based on...

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

After all, they already start from a position of weakness...

James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

      They're terrified to start with.

We hear so much about writing hubs to make money, of course we know we need financial resources to survive, but I appreciate how you are using hubpages to teach and spread the Word, as well as creating a stream of income. May the Lord Bless you! You have encouraged me to write more about God's Grace, Goodness, and Mercy, and turn more toward the Lord and not focus so much on just the money.

Lady E, You are quite welcome! I realize I do say that a lot but it is so very important! Many do not realize just how important developing an ongoing relationship with the Lord is... You must get to KNOW HIM for yourself! It really brings you much Peace & Joy... I start each day with "This is the DAY that the LORD has MADE let us REJOICE and be GLAD in it..."

We are living in some interesting times! You are quite right about "the laying on of hands" One must be discerning! I do not allow just anyone to "lay hands on me" You do not want someone to lay hands on you as you say and they "have their feet in 2 worlds." The key is "if you touch and agree..." Sad but true there is a lot that goes on under the guise of ministry that should not be!

I so enjoy your comments! Please always feel free to share your perspective. I hope others are enlightened and encouraged...By the way I attended a Wonderfully Blessed Worship Service today! God is Good! Thank you as always, much Love & Blessings!

Eniron, Many are in deep need of ministry to be loosed of very deep wounds that have a stronghold on their lives. When ministering to someone bound one must be spiritually centered and prayer and fasting are essentially necessary especially so in extreme cases. You are quite right one must be careful because they can try to turn on you... Yes I have seen the Exorcist.

Each person is so very different therefore one must truly submit and solicit the Lord when interceding for a person in need of deliverance. The responses vary. It can be an intense experience or subtle… As far as the lady raped by her brother-in-law this was quite unfortunate…Sexual abuse is really more about domination and control this is why it is so cruel it robs the person of who they are! The perpetrator is out of control and seeks to dominate and control someone to satisfy an insatiable need... This is why it is important for one to stay alert of their surroundings. When a person is not subject to God they are subject to anything! Depression and mental health are often results of oppressed anger and pain causing one to need deliverance in some cases… There is always HOPE! God truly is able! It requires deep abiding FAITH! But restoration is possible! One should never underestimate God’s Power!

It is so very important to encourage others in developing an intimate personal relationship with the Lord. To know His Word as TRUTH and not doubt it! It is our “Life Manual.” Spending time meditating on the Word is vitally important! Implementing His principles in your life is a safeguard…. It is also our antidote to spirit filled living! Sincerely, Praising God is So Powerful! It also confuses the enemy…

Thank you for sharing, I do hope and pray that others are encouraged by our discussion here to move toward making it a priority to spend time with the Lord. This is not meant to invoke fear but to motivate incorporating God in your life everyday! Thank you for your wise and insightful comments! In His love & Blessings! To Go be The Glory!

Great hub, Deb. I used to have a friend who swore she sometimes saw ugly demons. I've never seen one, but I have felt the presence of evil. It exists!

A M Werner, Thank you for your comments and confirmation. It is quite serious and fervent prayer is needed when interceding on behalf of those in need of deliverance. As you say “Anointing and fervent prayer and fasting all work together to strength the Spirit in us, to resist and fend off the spirit in them. It is much more than just confidence. It is much more than determination. It is seeing what can't be seen, exposing what is not exposed, and then silencing what otherwise is not silent.” Amen!

The fact that the Lord has told us to “put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, but against spiritual host of wickedness...” This in itself let us know that we must be prepared for spiritual warfare. The Word of God is a powerful weapon, but we must learn to properly use it and apply it to our lives and the situations that arise! The Word teaches us that “God is Love!” This is a powerful statement “Love never fails.” We must truly love God and embrace His principles. This is why we need a Savior! Praise God that He has given us His Holy Spirit to lead us to all TRUTH! We never become the power we just access it through the Faith He has instilled in us! Thank you for sharing, In His love, Peace & Blessings!

djbrman, This is an important matter! I hear you loud and clearly about the laying on of hands. I do not or will not let just anyone lay hands on me as well... One must be discerning when one says they have a word for you or want to lay hands on you to bless you... God knows the condition of the heart, one must be on one accord with Him! The power is not in the title or position it is in the Lord! One must humbly and sincerely submit to Him when desiring to be a conduit to touch others in the name of Jesus....... This is why discernment is so important!

This is why I say one must spend consecrated time and meditate on the WORD! This is not just for outside show.

Your comments and insight are welcomed and appreciated Thank you for sharing, In His love & Blessings!

Thanks for the part 2 of this Hub. I'm glad you emhasise we should live in ways pleasing to God. Its a message we need to hear everyday as we face challenges daily.

On the issue of laying of hands - I will be honest with you.... these days, I don't let anyone just lay their hand on my head. This is because of things I have seen, certain pastors in Africa etc. It's good and the bible ordains it, but not every Pastor is a Pastor. Some pastors have their feet in 2 worlds. They might be healing but it's not with God's power. If it's someone I have known for a while and my spirit agrees with them, then I don't mind laying of hands.

Oh... you set me off again but it's an encouraging Hub.

Hope you enjoy Service tomorrow, Sunday.

      Best Wishes.

Thank you for your second article on the same subject. Not many churches practise exorcism. I was in Australia a couple of years ago, and an old friend told me that he knew only about three churches practise this, our church, the Catholic Church and his church, which I forget the name. It is a fairly new church in Melbourne and I have visited it. It consisted of quite a mixed different ethnic groups.

His church sent out ministers to go out and cast out evil spirits in groups of two or even more. It is a hard job to accomplish. Have you seen the picture called The Exorcist. I saw it many years ago. If your faith is not strong enough, the evil ones may enter you instead.

I have encountered the three women who were exorcised and two other incidents held in the church. The only last two incidents were group incidents. One was an Italian lady who had been raped by her brother-in-law. I saw her eyes and they were very evil looking. The third incident involved a Vietnamese student who was brought to Toronto from Edmonton. The prayer for casting out was carried on two occasions. She was on the floor sliding from one end of the church to the other side and furiously hitting her legs and flinging her arms in the air. She stayed in the minister's home for a couple of days. Eventually, she was alright and finished her education.

Praise and thank the Lord for the wonderful healing which was unforgetable. All glory to the Lord Jesus Christ!

When you say this is nothing to play with, DeBorrah, it is true. This is why King Saul evicted witchcraft from his kingdom. There are very real spirits out there that can take over and inhabit people - and their presence comes through in obscene violence, depression, hate, rage, and lust. I know people like to say they pray - but - the Scriptures do tell us about fervent prayer and fasting. Fasting is often a forgotten element, it is a humility the Holy Spirit finds pleasing. In Act 19, there is the famous exorcism that went bad - Yahshua I know and Paul I know, but who are you? That is the last things you want an evil spirit saying to you because they are about to show their dominon over weak faith. Anointing and fervent prayer and fasting all work together to strength the Spirit in us, to resist and fend off the spirit in them. It is much more than just confidence. It is much more than determination. It is seeing what can't be seen, exposing what is not exposed, and then silencing what otherwise is not silent.

Even thinking of King Saul again, when he lost the Holy Spirit, he was a mess, and he needed the one with the Holy Spirit to come and play music for him in order to calm him. There is great power in passive content faith. It is a force even the devils tremble before. Both hubs were really good. Peace.

Rev Lady, Thank you for sharing your insightful comments! You are so right! "satan uses effective weapons to weaken the body of Christ, yet GOD continues to overrule satan's attempts. No amount of demonic temptations, possessions, attacks, or persecution will obliterate the Church of Christ." Amen! This is why it is so important to "rightly divide the Word of God!" It is our Spiritual SWORD to combat his attacks. The good thing is that we know that "the battle is the Lord's" This is why we continously robe ourselves in the "Spiritual Armor" By Faith we know that in time "All things work together for the good for those who love Him and are the called according to His purpose."

There is much to divide and distort the Truth of God's Word! God is so worthy! It is my prayer that the Lord's people shine the Light on the darkness that is all about us during these last days...

I am humbled by your kind words! I thank the Lord for your dedication and the wonderful gift He has given you to share His Word! I truly believe that as we continue to be obedient to Him He will make our path straight! To God Be The Glory! In His love & Blessings

I would like to see more Christians writing on the subject you have taken on because there is little knowledge of it in the church body. Laying on of hands is a thing that requires anointing and sanctification. There are some people I will not allow to lay hands on me if I don't discern an anointing on them to do so. When we intercede with prayer and laying on of hands we must be able to know which to affectively pray. Asking questions to the person who needs intercession it the key. There are different prayers to pray for different circumstances. For instance, you got to know if you need to pray a command, which would be for healing or a demonic spirit or if you need to do a petition prayer. This discernment if crucial since you may be praying the wrong prayer if the person says, I need prayer for a personal situation or for an unspoken request. We need to be able to do this end time work and it be visible to the world. I know a lot of preachers or altar workers who would crawl up under the pew if a real demon manifested in a person. Pray for our ministers to be equiped and empowered to do the works of Jesus. It's time to stop playing church and having leadership that is grandstanding without real power. Keep writing sister because the Holy Spirit has put this word in you! May God bless you and give you the knowledge and instructed tongue to write more and more of His truths!

Keep spreading the GOOD NEWS. The world needs to know that help is available in any circumstance. There is no problem too big or too small.

"We as God’s children, His Universal CHURCH are faced with this army that wants to destroy and defeat Christ’s CHURCH the body of believers!" "The gates of hell will not prevail against GOD’s HOLY CHURCH!" AMEN!! DeBorrah, AMEN!!

Satan uses effective weapons to weaken the body of Christ, yet GOD continues to overrule Satan's attempts. No amount of demonic temptations, possessions, attacks, or persecution will obliterate the Church of Christ.

God has richly blessed you with spiritual power and I praise Him that you are using it for the benefit of all His Spirit directs to your hubs as well as your ministry. I am blessed that it pleased God that I should have found you. All glory to God!

      Forever His,

OK. This time I get to be first. I waited all night because the Lord told me Part II would be written tonight. DeBorrah, this is excellent work and 100% true. It is true deliverance ministry at its finest and I thank you for handling such a touchy and misunderstood subject so well!

I'm going back to my profile now to add this one right under the first one and then Stumble it like I did the last one!!!
