Eric's Sunday Sermon; Christmas Eve
Of all nights
So I hopped on that phone to call my friends and family that are alone. To send my love. To extol the love I have for them. I have free time as my son plays with church school buddies and cousins. My wife is busy helping with the cooking for 100 of our closest friends. Bah Humbug I cry out while my grin makes me look like a clown with a mouth too big to hold my grin. It is not about the season.
We reach out and extend love through our handshakes and hugs. We reach within ourselves and find more to give than to receive. And by all golly jingles we become greater than ourselves in love.
Peace to all homes and peace to the countries in which they are. And peace be to children everywhere. Stop now and leave my words behind and find that love which is someone else's but only you can give.
Grace of God is in the air. I will not bore with Biblical quotes or Zen master diatribes. For tonight we are not taken for what we believe or for what we have accomplished we are held up and lifted up and given grace. We are captive on this lovely night. Captured by the love of others. Lucky and blessed to give unto our own hearts to love one another. Let us all surrender to that which is good and blessed among us.
