Eternal Question 12: Is Spirit Possession Real?

Updated on December 23, 2012

Do you feel a little - not yourself today?

As an Independent Research Scientist, I research the nature of the human condition and mankind's connection to Spirituality. I do so by research and first hand experimentation.

(Please read the Eternal Questions and their answers in order, as the answers build upon one another in an ordered and sequential format.)

Is Spirit Possession Real?

  • The answer is unfortunately - YES!

I personally have had two different possessing spirits at different times in my life.

The first spirit was a spirit of sexual depravity: This spirit kept putting sexual thoughts in my mind and very much seemed to like pornography.

One day I felt this impulse that I did not like or want, and so I commanded anything within me that was not of the Lord to Leave! There was absolutely no doubt in my mind!

At that exact moment, i felt something leave me, my body, and circle around me twice in a counterclockwise direction and then leave the vicinity.

  • My first response was one of total shock! What the ?????? - just happened. It happened that fast!

At that time I realized:

1) spirit possession was real and

2) that anybody. (ANYBODY!) may have a possessing spirit.

Dr. Edith Fiore is a psychologist who stumbled on to the issue of spirit possession after she started using hypnosis in Regression Therapy. In the Early 1990's, in a talk given at the Whole Life Expo she revealed that half the people walking into her Los Angeles office for psychological issues, turned out to suffer from spirit possession or influence, - Half of them!

  • Dr. Edith Fiore wrote the book - The Unquiet Dead

(I am not giving this information to persuade anyone to any belief, or to put fear into anyone, but as evidence that spirit possession is a real problem in this world - and especially for Christians.)

The Psychologist Dr Edith Fiore, to my knowledge, is not a Christian - just a practicing psychologist working with people who seek psychological help or therapy.

The bottom line is that if you are not 'really feeling yourself today' - strange thoughts and Impulses - It may not be you!

      To Christian's,

Possession should be common knowledge - but I don't think all Christian's really accept it, especially in this Age. I was totally taken off guard when it happened to me!

As a Scientist I wanted to give an effective external source of evidence that this phenomena is real - whether Christian or Not!

I did relate that, I cast the Spirit out in the Lord's Name.

I'm surprised that you only mentioned Dr. Edith Fiore. The Word of God dealt with these spiritual matters about 2000 years ago.
