Placement: 3rd Sign
Key Trait(s): Communication, Lightyear/Sec Mind, etc.
Symbol: The Twins
Gemini are the mutable air sign of the zodiac, as well as the first mutable sign that comes into order. As they have a mutable air quality, they will always try to adapt and change a little bit of everything in their world in order to create harmony.
Gemini is that sign in the zodiac that knows a little of everything. They are always on the move, searching for new information, much like Mercury (Hermes) they're planetary ruler.
It isn't uncommon for a sign like this to hit the road to an underground library in the middle of the desert (see: that Avatar: The Last Airbender episode with the uni teacher that spent most of his life searching for it :P )
Also, Gemini is the head of the 3rd House in the zodiac. The 3rd house deals with things like communication, and relations with people close to them, like siblings, a spouse, etc.
As such, Geminis are blessed with quick and witty tongues. If they want to say something, they'll say it. Unlike Aries however, Gemini will learn when to and when not to keep their mouths shut, over time. It honestly depends on the person.
What also distinguishes themselves from Aries is that when/if a Gemini blurts something out, it won't be any nonsensical crap, mind you.
The Geminis mind is always going 1000000000000000000000000xOOO miles a second, so it's fairly easy for them to come up with a counterargument in a short amount of time.
Don't try to confine a Gemini. They will always find a way out. Always. There is literally nothing that grinds their gears more than being forced to do something at the cost of their freedom.
Also, some Gemini may seem like slackers when it comes to their work or studies, but when motivated to get going, they're pretty much an indomitable force.
Gemini behind the exterior
In this section, we'll explore a little bit of the meaning behind Gemini's twin duality for which they're so famed for.
If you think that behind the exterior, Gemini has some sort of dual personality thingie going on, then you couldn't be further from wrong. The real meaning behind Gemini's twin duality is either one of two things. We'll start with the first one.
1. One twin represents what Gemini let's the world think of them, and the other twin is who they really are.
The saying, "There is light and dark in all of us, but it is up to us which one we choose to act on." is very true in Gemini's case.
What the Gemini has hidden behind their other twin could be many things. It could be that they hide their true selves behind an antagonistic, aloof personality. The other could be that underneath that kind exterior lies someone who secretly has his own evil ambitions.
Take a look at this guy here:
Sosuke Aizen from Bleach
Now if you've seen Bleach, I imagine you already realize the reference I'm trying to make. Sosuke is a good example of the Good/Bad Twin archetype, in addition to him being a Gemini. Sosuke used the duality of his sign to his advantage to achieve his ambitions.
The Good Twin is someone who appeared to be very kind, warm, and gentle. The Bad Twin is someone who used this goodness inside of him to manipulate the people around him and to fulfill his own goals (note that the Good/Bad Twin I'm referring to is that of Sosuke)
Like I said earlier, the saying, "There is light and dark in everyone, but it is up to us to choose which one we act on." is very true, and Sosuke is living proof of that.
Now take a look at this:
Johnny Depp, a good example of the Gemini duality
An actor/actress is someone who must be capable of taking on the personalities of different people for whatever role they partake in whatever movie they go into.
Who better suited for such a role than a person borne a Gemini? Gemini's are excellent multitaskers. They are capable of taking on many different assignments at once. It's not unusual for a Gemini to not do his/her homework at the last minute, get it done on time anyway, and still pass with flying colors.
Johnny Depp is perhaps the best example of a Gemini capable of taking on several roles at once.
Outside of that, however, it is hard to explain, so whatever else you might be wondering about this reference, I shall leave to your imagination.
The Second Gemini behind the Exterior
The 2nd Gemini behind the exterior is someone who yearns for the one (if you feel my flow) to come into their life and complete them; give them the missing twin they've long been searching for for so long.
This Gemini is perhaps the most common one. This type of Gemini needs to realize that no one can complete them. The only way they'll reunite with this long lost twin of their's is to realize that it lies within, and not without.
However, with every good thing, they're must be bad to balance it.
Gemini can be very restless at times to get out there and do something, esp. if their freedom is being detained. A Gemini in controlled conditions is like a cornered rat with a very nasty bite. If Gemini's freedom is taken, they will resort to violence to regain it, if necessary.
Also, while Gemini isn't that flirtatious, they are very fickle. If Gemini feels that where they are isn't where they should be, they won't hesitate to change their loyalties. Also, Gemini get bored very easily. Couple that with their capriciousness, and you've got a crybaby Gemini on your hands.
Also, protip: unless you want the whole goddamn universe to know, don't tell a Gemini any of your deepest, darkest secrets. This sign has a real motor mouth on them. It's not that they gossip on purpose; it's just these guys do nothing but talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, and then some. They don't know when to keep their mouths shut or what to keep their mouths shut. Like they literally can/will talk you to death about anything.
So just be cautious in what you divulge to Gemini.
How do I get a Gemini to like me?: Go up to them and speak to them in the most ravishing tone possible about the most diverse, intricate subject you can think of. These signs love information and like I said, they know a little bit about everything.
Attracting a Gemini all boils down to simple communication, with a hint of sophistication. If you're a scientist, talk to them about quantum physics or how many atoms there are in a piece of paper. If you're a history buff, talk to them about how Nobunaga Oda revolutionized how Samurai fought at the Battle of Nagashino with the introduction of the gun (it may also help if you know that Nobunaga is a Gemini *laughs*)
Try to talk to them about anything you can possibly think of, with a hint of sophistication and an intriguing tone.
