FALL ON YOUR KNEES (testimony 4/11/2012)

Dear Friends ~ While feeding my soul today with the passage (1 Peter 2:24) from the bible, I was reminded of a dark time in my life I feel strong enough to share with you now.

Friends~ there was a time in my life that I was facing such an unbearable loss that I prayed and meditated immensely.

One of these times I found myself at “The Lords of Litchfield” in Litchfield Ct...

This is a beautiful place where you can walk the Stations of the Cross (not being Catholic I had never done the Stations of the Cross before). (However being desperate for comfort I walked the different stations any way soaking in the beautiful artistic statues.)

As I walked I found myself concentrating on the sacrifice of JESUS, and the pain he endured. I felt humbled beyond words and I actually cried in this public place (which is not like me at all!)

At the end of the walk I ended up at the natural stone alter at the bottom of the hill which had man made stone steps to it.

I found myself doing another thing I normally wouldn’t do in public; I fell on my knees on these stone steps (not caring how much it hurt or who was watching) and prayed all sorts of things!

Mostly when I prayed I was thanking JESUS for HIS giving of his life for us lowly beings, and asking for HIS merciful forgiveness.

I eventually picked myself up and walked away feeling a bit washed out, but at the same time seeming to be more at peace with all my burdens.

That day I ended up feeling a renewed closeness to GOD that is still with me; as well I also feel it saved my life in many ways!

Dear GOD thank you so much for YOUR SON “JESUS CHRIST” our LORD and SAVIOR. How awful we were to shun and crucify such a loving SOUL. We are so very sorry beyond words for our selfish, evil and vile behavior. Please LORD GOD forgive us all! AMEN

{{{{Christ carried the burden
of our sins.
He was nailed to the cross,
so that we would stop sinning
and start living right.
By his cuts and bruises
you are healed.}}}}

1 Peter 2:24

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

23 All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. 24 But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins. Romans 3:23-24

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

  1. 3.24 treats us much better than we deserve: The Greek word charis, traditionally rendered “grace,” is translated here and other places in the CEV to express the overwhelming kindness of God.

I hope you all have a wonderful blessed day!

The sad thing is, Lisa, many that are kind and giving ARE mistreated. How can that be? Do people really fear someone that much that truly cares?

This is a very touching experience, and I feel honored to have been able to read this hub and have a sense of what you went through before you realized that Jesus died for you because he loves you. My heart was moved as I read this hub, as I've known similar despair, and similar fullness in Jesus. I love happy endings.
