The Second Chakra

The sacral chakra is the second chakra, located between the genitals and the navel, and is associated with the color orange. The sacral chakra is most commonly known for controlling reproduction and sexuality, but it also is associated with creativity. Those who have a strong energy in the sacral chakra will most likely feel fulfilled and pleased. If you have a strong sacral chakra, you are pleasant to be around, joyful, and patient. You are also sexually active and fertile.

Functions

The sacral chakra functions as the center of our reproductive organs. As such, any ailments or health issues associated with the reproductive organs would be something to refer to with your sacral chakra. In addition, because the sacral chakra is so close to the root chakra, it also grounds us and binds us to this earth. As you get lower in the chakras, the more they deal with our physical needs as a human race on this planet. Those with a strong sacral chakra energy have fulfillment in their lives and their relationships. They live life to the fullest and are the creative types.

Intimacy

A strong energy in the sacral chakra is associated with good intimacy in relationships.

Chakra Imbalances

If you are having an issue with balance in your sacral chakra, you might be suffering from relationship issues with your significant other. Problems with intimacy suggest an under-active sacral chakra. You generally might feel irresponsible and less able to handle your relationships in a healthy way from day to day. In relation to physical health issues, those with infertility issues, sexual issues, or allergies could have an under-active sacral chakra.

How To Balance Your Sacral Chakra

Find a quiet place to meditate. Surround yourself with the color orange. Consider using a chakra card or visual to focus your energy, and seek the help of a guided audio meditation for the sacral chakra. As you breathe in and out slowly, feel your breath go all the way down from your navel to your genitals, and then back up to your throat. Let the act of breathing in and out relax you until you are in a clear state of mind. Use the following positive affirmations to help focus your energy…

-I feel fulfilled and happy with my life.

-I feel pleased sexually.

-I have good intimate relationships with my significant other.

-I am creative, joyful, and prosperous in my life.

-I feel good about myself.

Fulfillment

The sacral chakra also deals with your sense of fulfillment as a person. If you overall feel joyful and fulfilled, you probably have a strong energy in your sacral chakra.

The Importance Of Sexual Health

Use the sacral chakra to help you take care of your own personal health, whether that be in your relationships with others or your physical health. It is important to maintain healthy relationships with others in order to feel happy and fulfilled in this life. The sexual nature of humanity and fertility is an important aspect of who we are as animals on this planet. If you feel like you have an imbalance in your sacral chakra, take the time to work on strengthening this energy as this coupled with the root chakra are like your axis points and the basis for all of your existence.
