Far Beneath

Updated on July 1, 2018

Most Christians are living far beneath the wonderful calling God has for them. If your basic salvation is sure, don't just stay there, but grow into the fullness of faith and works which God has in store for you. Pray and keep on asking the Lord for a gift of the Holy Spirit, and ask him what He wants you to do for him. He will answer at the right time. If you haven't been baptized, go to a Spirit-filled assembly (church) and be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. Then ask the pastor or someone there to lay hands on you because you want more of the Holy Spirit. Talk to the pastor about it first. It is important to ask the Lord which assembly to go to, because of the Lord's will for you, and also because in some of the assemblies demons are operating with false imitation gifts. Ask the Lord for discernment about this.

Heb 6:1, 2 [WEB]
Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

1Cor 3:1-3 [WEB]
Brothers, I couldn’t speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ. I fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren’t yet ready. Indeed, you aren’t ready even now, for you are still fleshly...

Heb 5:12-14 [WEB]
For although by this time you should be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the revelations of God. You have come to need milk, and not solid food. For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby. But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.

1Pet 2:2 [WEB]
as newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, that with it you may grow...

Eph 3:19, 20 [WEB]
and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us...

Eph 4:11-13 [WEB]
He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds [or, pastors] and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ...

1Cor 12:7-11 [WEB]
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all. For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit; and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages. But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

These gifts of the Holy Spirit should operate in the assemblies as the Spirit gives to the members of the assembly, including children. The Spirit may decide to give other gifts not mentioned here. The Lord is doing a lot of new things in these, the end times.
