Fatherhood of God

He got the whole world in His Hand.
He got the whole world in His Hand.
He got the whole world in His Hand.

We are orphans without God.

‘Doubtless thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our Father, our Redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.’ - Isaiah 63:16

It is quite interesting to see children basking in the love of their father, especially if such father is wealthy. On the other hand, it is quite disheartening to see orphans struggling to survive at every stage of development in life. The presence of both our biological parents could be of importance to us, especially to secure a good start in life.

Interestingly, the first mention of God through the first chapter of Genesis is ELOHIM. Though this Name implies a covenant – keeping God (that will finish what He started), but it is also the parental Name of God that comprises both His Masculine and Feminine characters. YAHWEH is the Law – Giver, symbolized by FIRE, while EL – SHADDAI is the Breasted God (Breast is the seat of Emotions), symbolized by WATER. Both are present in the compound Name ELOHIM – GOD

When God (ELOHIM) first made man in His own image, He made (Adam) him Elohim; comprising images of Yahweh and El – Shaddai enclosed. However, when Adam could not find a suitable helper (outside himself), God took out a rib from the side of man (Elohim); separating the image of El -shaddai from the image of Yahweh to bring forth Eve! Read the summary:

‘So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him: MALE and FEMALE he created them ‘

- Genesis 1:27(Emphasis mine).

How this (Genesis 1:27) come to be was fully explained in Genesis 2: 21 – 22. Medically speaking, it has been discovered that every sex hormone in man is also present in woman (though in a very low percentage) and vise versa; A residual proof of the separation.

God is our Father. First by creation; He Fathered or procreate everything on Earth, we are images of His imaginations, brought forth by the power of His Word. The whole World was in His loins before creation. He is the Father of all creations. The World is beautiful, only because God is beautiful!

In another but deeper sense, God is our Father, by our being born – again. He created all men, but not all men are mindful of Him. Those that are mindful of God are said to be born (from above) again. These are Heavenly minded people, who would not do a thing without considering God.

When God brings Sun on the both the wicked and the righteous, He is showing His responsibility as the Father of Creations (Even the grass needs Sun). However, when He chastises His children, He is showing His responsibility as the Father that has interest in their prosperity. The corrections will fail to make today, will mar tomorrow’s glory. Hear this:

‘ My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and punishes everyone he accepts as sons. Endure hardship as discipline: God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not discipline (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!’ - Hebrews 12: 5 -9

Responsibility is what makes a man to be a father. God is responsible for our well – being. He had made provisions available for all that Adam would ever need, before placing him in the Garden of Eden. Howbeit, the Law – Giver (YAHWEH) chastised Adam for the sin committed, but the Breasted God (EL –SHADDAI) supplied coat of tunics to cover their nakedness. All revealed in ELOHIM – God, the Father of all creations.

The Prodigal Son collected his portion of his father’s will, by law (from YAHWEH, the Law – Giver). After his riotous living, he came back with a hard lesson learnt, to the open hands of his forgiving (EL – SHADDAI, the Breasted – God) father. The Israelites groaned to the Breasted God (EL – SHADDAI) in their land of bondage, sinned against the Law – Giver (YAHWEH) in the Wilderness, but ELOHIM - God took them to Canaan as He has promised Abraham their father.

Here is the lesson: when God chastise you, don’t run away but run to Him (Breasted – God) –John 6:37 AND when He pampers you with Blessings, keep an eye on (YAHWEH) His commandments – Psalm 119:11

If birds of the air can rely on His Fatherhood (by creation) for their daily needs, are we not much more valuable (Matthew 6: 26)? Rain or shine, the Fatherhood of God should give us a confidence that we are not orphans here on the face of the Earth. Abraham recognized this and so was Jacob. David declared, Thy Rod and Thy Staff comforted me.

Let it be known by all and sundry that we all are orphans without this loving Father, the Jehovah - El -Shaddai Himself. When the world groans in pain, He Himself is not happy. He has given us His own way out, and that is the love He displayed in giving us His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. If we accept Him, we are save. A world without Christ is full of crises.

Let all world leaders lead the world to God via the love of Christ Jesus, and see the world a better place.

Where shall you go from His Fatherhood? May you always be at home with God. He is your Father! There is no other God beside this God. He is a loving Father, He is merciful, compassionate, Faithful, dependable, reliable and above all Fatherly. Until when you experience God, you will think this is mere religion.

Have a taste, have an experience. You can experience God's Fatherly love on a daily basis. God is real and He is loving, believe me.

Preparing the Bride,

Segun Tewogbola

RevLady, Thanks for that comments, I know its coming from a heart burnt with the truth. Your own passion for our Father is an encouragement for many others - the remnants of righteousness. The Truth wil prevail!

A great hub filled with truth from the Word of God. I particularly appreciated the emphasis of God as our Father. I enjoyed reading this hub and look forward to more in the future.

      Bless you!

      Forever His,
