Today's daily words of encouragement is Fasting; to fast means to abstain from food and drink and to be prayerful. We are taught from the bible on fasting; there's a right way to fast and a wrong to fast. The bible tells us to fast by putting on a joyful and happy face: and staying in our prayer closet. If you're fasting and looking sad and telling everyone, you might as well be on the street corner publicising it to the whole world.....like the hypocrites in the biblical days. If we're fasting to show off for men, the bible says you already have your reward but if we're fasting in private with a joyful conscience, then our reward will be from God in heaven. The bible teaches us that fasting and prayer availeth a good thing. If we have a pressing problem that needs solving and regular prayer has helped, then maybe you should consider fasting and praying about it.
Prayers can change any condition but if we fast and pray, our prayers will be answered quickly, because we're giving up something or we're are sacrificing something for God ; Then, Jesus will we step in and intercede on behalf of us.
