But seek first the kigdom of God, and all things these shall be added un to you. Matthews 6-33

" Faye's Daily Words Of Encouragement # 149 Today's Word Is : First"Definition of the word First

Definition of the word First: means preceding all others; one who or that which is above all others in rank position, the beginning, number one.

Matthews chapter 6- 33 : But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthews chapter 12 - 45 : then goeth he, and taketh then with himself seven other spirits more wicked them himself, and they enter in and dwell there, and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall, it also be to this wicked generation.

Matthews chapter 19 -30 : But many that are first shall be last, shall be first ; and the last shall  be first.

Mark chapter 12 - 28 : And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well asked him , which is the first commandment of all.

John chapter 8 - 7 : So, when thy continued asking him, be lifted up himself, and said unto them, he that is without sin, among  you, cast the first stone at her.

Romans chapter 8 -23 : And not only thy, but ourselves also, which have the first fruit of the spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of the body.

Mark chapter 9 -35 : And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, if any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

Today's daily words of encouragement word is First: Do you remember when you were a child growing up and playing all sort of games with other children, how we always wanted to be first. A lot of times disagreements arose because everyone wanted to be first. Well the times hasn't really changed that much;because people still want to be first in line for everything.  God created man first so I guess it's in our nature to want to be first.  We are suppose to seek first the Kingdom of God and all things shall be added unto us.  God tells us also to remove the beam from our own eye, before we can get the mote from our brothers eye. The scripture is telling us not to be hypercritical of others by judging them or their actions before we can get our own business and actions straighten out.

Being first in anything carries with it a responsibility; to be the best of all and do the best of all.Being first is an honor and a unique responsibility. So, beware of what ye ask for because you might get it.

I think that the admonitions about being first are a warning aqainst arrognce and the dangers of getting in over our heads

It's so true creativeone, many today are all about "getting mine first." Instead of seeking God's kingdom first and his righteousness, material things seem to take priority instead. Thanks for another great reminder.

Creativeone, this passage of Scripture seems to say it all: Matthews 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Thank you for sharing the word for today with us.
