I will thou backsliding, I will love them freely, for mine anger is turned is truned away from him. Hosea 14-4

"Faye's Daily Words Of Encouragement # 165 Today's Word Is : Backslider"

Definition of the word Backslider: A person who has returned to their old ways,, usually after eschewing them.

Jeremiah chapter 3 - 6 : The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, hast thou seen that which blacksliding Israel hath done, she is gone upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

Jeremiah chapter 3 - 8 : And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery, I had put her away, and and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played harlot also.

Jeremiah chapter 3 - 12 : Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say return thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord : and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you. for I am merciful, saith the Lord, I will not keep my anger forever.

Jeremiah chapter 8 - 5 : Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding, they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.Jeremiah chapter 14 - 7 : O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name 's sake, for our backsliding are many; we have sinned against thee.

Hosea chapter 11 - 7 : They shall tremble as a bird out of  Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them  in their houses, saith the Lord.

Hosea chapter 14 - 4 : I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely : for mine anger is turned away from him

Today's word of encouragement  word is Backslider,  it means to turn away from something or someone. It means to turn away from God after you have eschews evil and come to him.  When we backslide, we turn  completely from God and go back to doing ungodly and sinful things that's not of God. The bible tells us how Israel came to God, but then turn away from  God again. Backsliding is a crucial sin in Gods eye, that why he get so angry about people backsliding. Once we commit our lives and ourselves to God we 're suppose to stay committed without turning back. Turning back is like Lott's wife, who was warned about what would happen ,if she turn back, or looking back and she did look back and suffer the consequences of being turned into a pillar of salt.

Even God has said that turning back is like a dog vomiting and going  back to the vomit. So e see that turn back or looking back is not a good thing, because ti takes us from the presence of God. did any of you know how bad turning back was in Jesus eyes, I think the bible even stated that anyone that looks back or turn back is not worthy of God Kingdom. Than alone will truly make us refrain fro turning or looking back if it's going to separate us for the Love of God and his kingdom.

I got those chills again. I backslide ONE TIME. Never again, it lasted maybe two days, I felt so alone, sad and depressed. I will never turn my face against God again its too heartbreaking like losing the love of your life.

Great Word Faye! This is something I have struggled with for many years. But God is so faithful, patient, loving and kind, and He desires no one to perish, as He says in 2 Peter 3:9; "The Lord is not slow to keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." Thank you for His daily Word!!

Another great hub--yes backsliding--I don't want to ever backslide--but many do--including myself--and it is nothing to judge-God is always there when we slip-and return...Our God is forgiving and a loving God--all with "conditions" even backsliding at times...God loves us all! All we can do is get up, brush ourselves off and focus on God again..Our God is forgiving--even with backsliders. :)

If we shun Him, we will also be shunned in front of God the Father. Thanks for the reminder!

Human inclination and at times our association can lead us down this slippery road. Fortunately, we have a loving God who has open arms ready for us when we are ready to return to him. God never leaves us, we are the ones that leave God. This was an excellent reminder creativeone.

To truly taste the sweetness of God is to never want to return to the bitterness of who we were before Christ came into our lives. Thanks for the reminder

      I love this part:

"Hosea chapter 14 - 4 : I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely : for mine anger is turned away from him."

As long as we interact with others, there will be a tendency for this.

Lucky ours is a loving, forgiving God.

      Thank you for reminding.

I cannot imagine how anyone who have encountered God could go back to former ways. Oh well.

God bless you Creativeone for an interesting topic. Enjoy your weekend in fellowship with Him and your family.

      Forever His,
