"Faye's Daily Words Of Encouragement #187 Today's Word Is : Forsake"

Definition of the word Forsake: Means to let go of something, or to stop doing something, or to forgo.

Deuteronomy chapter 4 -31 : For the Lord thy God is a merciful God, he will not forsake thee , neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them

Deuteronomy chapter 12 - 9 : For ye are not as yet come to rest and to the inhertiance , which the Lord your God giveth you.

Psalms chapter 22- 1 : My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me, why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring.

Psalms chapter 37 - 25 :I have been young, and now am old, yet have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Proverbs Chapter 1- 8 : My son hear the instruction of your father, and forsake not the law of your mother.

Proverbs chapter 2 - 17 : Which forsaketh the guide of your youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

Jeremiah chapter 17 - 13 : O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsake the Lord, The fountain of ever lasing waters.

Matthews chapter 19 -29 : And everyone that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or fathers, mothers, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit ever lasting life.

Matthews chapter 26 -56 : But all this was done that the scriptures of the prohets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.

Luke chapter 5 - 11: And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

Luke chapter 14 - 33 : So, likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

2 Corinthians chapter 4 - 9 " Persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed.

Today's daily words of encouragement word is Forsake: Forsake means to let go of something, or stop doing something.  In other words it means to let go of ungodly habits and clean up our spiritual life. It means to give up sin and iniquities. I would be lying if I said, we can live our lives without sin ; but we can live our lives as close as possible to sin free by living for God. If we didn't have sin  and iniquities to fight against we wouldn't have a reason for prayers and forgiveness.

So, we have to rid our selves of things that's keeping us from living a godly life . Let go of the hatred and replace it with the love of God. Let go of anger and replace it with love and peace of mind.  Let go of any obstacle that's keeping us from living according to Gods word.
