Definition Of the word Likeness:Means a representartionof  of someone, as a portrait or a bust of someone, or similarity, or resemblance or a counterpart.

Romans chapter  6 - 5 : For if we  of his have been planted together in the likeness death; in speech of Lycaonia, the gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

Roman chapter 8 - 3 : For what the law could do, in that weak through the flesh, God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and sin, condemned sin in the flesh.

Philippians chapter 2 - 7 : But made himself of no reputation and took upon him, the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of man.

Genesis chapter 1 - 26 : And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every creeping things that creepeth upon the earth

Today's daily words of encouragement word is Likeness: which means a representation of  someone, as a portrait or a bust of someone or a counterpart. God made Adam in his image and likeness. God, sending Jesus in his likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.

We should be thankful for the blessing of Jesus dying  on the cross for all of mankind. it's also a blessing that God made man in his own image and likeness. Man was made in his likeness to have dominion over the fish of the seas, over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and the earth.

Yes we are made in the likenes and image of our God, but somehow we have gone astray, and now we have to restore our image back to where our Lord first placed us, to be loving towards each other, we have a long way to go, and a little time to get there.

God loves all whether we like it or not

Thanks CO for another word of encouragement. I'd like to add that I also love that picture. Lighthouses always speak to me as representing the Light of the world--and we were created in that likeness. Bless you.

It is indeed an exceptional thing in our religious traditions that God would make humans in his image, as the old gods were made in mans image, I believe.

Being made in His likeness and image, we are His crowning joy. May we live as to please our great God and be found worthy of this special gift He gave to man.

      Blessings,

      Forever His,
