"Faye's daily words of encouragement: # 21 Todays word is: Promise"
Definition of the word Promise: To pledge or vow to do something.
Romans chapter 4 - 20 thru 21:He steggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in fatih, giving glory to glory.
And being fully persauded that, what he had promised he was able to perform.
Hebrews chapter 11- 13 : These all died in faith, not having recieved the promises, but haaving seen them a far off, and were persauded of them, and embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
2 Peter chapter 3 - 9 : The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as men count as slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Corinthians chapter 1 - 20 : For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen unto the glory of God by us.
God a made a promise eons ago, to people and disciples that's already dead and gone, but God's promise of eternal life in a new and beautiful world; still stand in todays world. It makes no difference that the recipients of this promise is deceased, when God raise them from the dead; his promise will still be valid. We live in a society, where a promise to most people; is just a bunch of meaningless words that the person has no intentiion of keeping.
We should all take a page out of God's book, because people have lived with so many broken promises, every day of their lives. God's promises will be fulfilled because he cannot lie, with God we all have a guarantee; but with man we have only empty promises, that will never be fulfilled.
