This little decorated chair of mines will represent the all the pride in our lives.

"Faye's words of encouragement" # 14 Todays word is: Pride

Proverbs chapter 8 - verse 13: The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the forward mouth, do I hate.

Jeremiah chapter 49 - 16 : Thy terribleness hath decieved thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill:  though thou shouldest make the nest as high as the eagles, I will bring the down from thence, saith the Lord.

Psalms chapter 31 - verse : Thou shalt hide them in the secret of the presence from the pride of men: thouh shalt keep them secretly in a pavillion from the strife of tongues.

Definiion of the word pride: Self esteem, hautiness, disdain.

Hautiness: is proud, arrogant, contemptuous of others

Disdain: is to treat with contempt.

It's Okay to have some self esteem, or some pride, but having to much pride or being overly zealous is a detriment to us. God hate prideful people, he hate people that's arrogan, deceitful, covetousness, wickedness, foolisheness, murderers, fornicators, and blasphmers because these are all traits of pride; and they are all brought to fruition from the thoughts of men.

The bible tells us, that it's not what goes into the body that defiles a man, but what comes out of the body that defiles a man.  we as children of God have to be careful of our thoughts and actions, down here on earth, because God in heaven; will hold us accountable for our thoughts and actions.  We should pattern our thoughts and actions after Jesus Christ .  If we are thinking of healthy and wholesome thoughts, than we want do any harm to our fellow man or our brother and sister in Jesus Christ.

We all need reminders, so we don't forget, yet sometimes we do, and God send someone our way to remind of what we forgot. Thank you for comments, feedback, and your support. creativeone59

It's always good to have reminders like these that help us to see that there is a proper and improper pride!

      Creativeone59,

Pride is a very good subject choice!

You are so right "we are held accountable for ALL of our actions." We should pattern ourselves after Jesus! "Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus!"

Often people mistake confidence in God for arrogance.

It is always important to keep in mind that God does know everything! He knows our thoughts, deeds, actions and motives. Knowing this helps so much because you are then able to do what you do knowing "Absolutely nothing gets by God!"

      Blessings
