Definition of the word Lost: Not used, or won, or claimed, unable to find the way, or thing.
Matthews chapter 10 - 6 : But go to the rather lost sheep of the house of Israel,
Jeremiah chapter 50 -6 : My people hath been lost sheep: their Shepard's have caused them to go astray, they have gone from mountains to hills, they have forgotten their resting place.
Ezekiel chapter 34 - 4 : The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away; neither ye sought that which was lost, but with force and cruelty have ye ruled them.
Matthews chapter 18 - 11 : For the son of man is come to save that which was lost.
We weree all lost sheep, until Jesus died on the cross for our sins. The Lord God had mercy on us, and sent his only begotten son to the cross for the atonement of our sins, so we would have life more abundantly.
The bible speaks of losing our life in order to find it again. a lost is gain in the eye sight of God, even if we lose our lives for our friends sake. When we received Christ the old man or old spirit in us die and is replaced with a new man or the the new spirit of God in us. Lost is always considered a gain in Gods eyes.
The lost of the old self should be considered a blessing to us, because of the new man in Christ. The losing of the old self is a rebirth, and a new life in Christ Jesus.
