The Holy Spirit Hovers Over and Connects to Us

The Holy Spirit Guides Us On A Lifetime Mission

The Holy Spirit is simply, the Spirit of God. It is God’s way of directing our daily path. It does not matter who or what the person is. The Holy Spirit acts upon its allowance. The spirit does not push nor force itself. It is ever present to guide as allowed.

It Is All Righteousness

It is as voluntary as a given gift. It is impossible to go wrong in life with its guidance. It is spiritually discerning. For it to work efficiently, it must be continually followed because it has a course that is designed for achievement to its followers. I am finally, a follower of the Holy Spirit. Surely, when a follower gets off course, from the Holy Spirit, the follower may find restitution and return following in the grace of the Holy Spirit at a time and time again. How many times this opportunity is given is unknown.

Does Not Guide One To Sin

There are people all over the world who are eager to proclaim their faith, religion or spiritual foundation but ignore the fact that they have weaknesses of the flesh that causes them to sin knowing and unknowingly. Allowing the Holy Spirit to continue on its mission avoids that. Therefore, it is no guide to sin. In fact, it guides away from sin.

It Requires Our Patience

It requires our patience for our own good. We may not be ready today, for what we are to receive tomorrow due to what must take place in our lives in between time. It simply matters for the believer’s own good to fully conform to its indoctrination. Many people believe that it is impossible to obey the commandments of God, live a righteous life and do good at all times. Believe it or not, there are those that obey His commandments, live righteously and do good at all times. It depends on the life that had been lived in their past on up to a certain point. It could have been something that made them change to want to live spiritually. Many times, the spiritual guidance that was given others by their guardians was instilled so well in them that they dared not veer off course.

What It Does

The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom. It is at the instinct of mind when there are choices to make. Ever hear people say, “I should have followed my first instinct?” Well, the Holy Spirit was there for them to choose that initial decision.

Allow me to deviate for a moment: I am a real estate agent and I sell homes. My job entails me as an expert to show homes to my buying clients that they have described for me to show them. So, I showed my client the first home on our first outing. My client said “this home is perfect, I love it” but the client wanted to see more because they did not want to take it without seeing other homes. Well, after seeing three to four more, the client wanted to make an offer on that first one, but after two days later, someone else had put an accepted offer on that first house. My client was very upset and wished they had followed their first inkling and made an offer on it because it was perfect enough inside, the location was great and the asking price was reasonable or at least at market value.

  • The Holy Spirit will guide us to our proper destination vs. doing it on our own
  • Teach us the wisdom necessary to achieve a goal vs. doing it on our own
  • Give us humility to love others vs. not showing and sharing love
  • Tell us what to say when we pray vs. not knowing what to pray for
  • Give us a change of heart vs. a heart of weakness
  • Help us maintain the biblical natural health laws and healing vs. medications and scientific medical procedures
  • Show us what to eat vs. eating what the flesh desires

What The Internet Says

As we search the Bible, we will find that the Holy Spirit is the nature, power and essence of God. It is also a gift that God can impart to a human mind to promote and inspire spiritual growth in that individual and enable that person to become a member of the family of God.

It Is To Meet Our Desires of Success Happiness Love and Freedom?

Why not rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us to our destinations? And even as a nation? Would not that be nice that everyone can be thinking on one accord? What a beautiful world this would be. Everyone can be successful, happy, loved and feeling free because we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our lives.

A Final Note

The Holy Spirit was predestined from God to be used for the benefit of people who desire to reach their full potential through an entity of which we cannot see, feel, hear or smell but is producing positive results. Relax and enjoy the adventure of such a Spirit.

Great explanation of the Holy Spirit and how it moves in our lives. I liked your example of the real estate transaction. I know that in times of need, like in the loss of a loved one, that I asked for the comfort of the Holy Spirit and immediately felt a calmness and relief from my despair. Jesus said, "I am with you always, even unto the end of the age." I believe that.

Hi savvydating, thanks for your complimentary comment. We need as much as we can get in how to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. Yes, it does nudge us and we need to definitely take heed to it. You're too sharp! God bless you!

I liked your synopsis of what the Holy Spirit can do in our lives. I also think it is worth mentioning that The Holy Spirit will never push, but will continue to gently nudge us when we are in need. Consequently, it is important to distinguish desire or instinct from the nudgings of the Holy Spirit. Lovely job here. Thank you for bringing up an important topic.

I don't know where I would be if I hadn't decided to just allow the holy spirit to just have his way. He is the guiding force in my life and without his wisdom I would be lost.

The Holy Spirit is a powerful Presence that can't be mocked or ignored.

"Romans 8:26 25: But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it. 26In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 27and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." (NIV)

When the Lord left, He sent us a "helper" who is the Holy Spirit. When we listen to the Holy Spirit in every aspect of our lives, then we live a life that glorifies our sweet Lord God.

    Beautiful hub of His truths.

    God bless you.

I commented earlier and it disappeared. Sigh! Well, what I said was that eight years ago I was in dire need of guidance....and I received it. All I had to do was reach out my arms and ask for it, and it was delivered. :) Beautiful topic and thoughts.

Word, this topic is very relevant. We need the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide our lives now more than ever, and the points you make certainly show that.
