First the water, then the clothes
The two go together.
For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Galatians 3:27
When we become baptized the Holy Spirit comes and lives within us.
Now to clothe ourselves with Christ is to emulate Him. That means we are to behave in a Christ like manner.
You see kids today tattooing themselves, swearing and being rebellious because they are emulating the filthy anti Christ’s in rap music. That is destructive and stupid, both for society and for themselves.
We Christians however are to be more like Christ in our behaviour and attitudes. Do you look down on somebody because they are a different colour, nationality or because they are poor? Jesus reached out to the Samaritan woman, the poor blind beggar and a hated Roman Centurion.
Are you impatient with someone who is not the brightest light bulb in the chandelier? Jesus was patient with His disciples for three years. Are you impatient with someone who is slow in the check out? It took God forty years of patience before the Israelites were ready to cross the Jordon River.
Are you too stingy to help the needy? Jesus suffered enormously on the cross to pay the cost for you to gain entry into a loving relationship with Jehovah.
If you are a Christian, prove it by your daily living. Like the old saying goes:Put up or shut up. You do not deserve the privilege of the name of Christian if you are not living the Christian lifestyle.
Although we look forward to going to Heaven to be with Jesus when we die, we should work hard to bring as many with us as we can. Joseph- Anthony: Green
Prayer: Please Jesus Immanuel (God amongst us) mold daily me to emultate You in all my thoughts, words and deeds. I humbly ask this in Your gracious name. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
