How do we follow the Higher Law. Or How do we allow love to be our guiding force. To me; I can sum up Christian faith as

Updated on March 12, 2013

If you take the time to look up above your home and see the majesty. It may force you to look for the higher law that give you life.

Go with it. If it rubs right and makes you feel on fire for love, it is right.

What goes into a man is less important that what comes from that man. From Mt. 15 Jesus is bashing with the Pharisees and scribes about following the law. We must always be careful to know if a law is man made or from on High. And then we must be careful not to read it in a twisted way.

We had this prayer: God is good, God is great, let's eat!!! I know it is too short, but is it really?

Ya see my twisted mind will take verse 11 and get me drunk, fat, unhealthy, smoking and all manner of gluttony. Without doing some serious worry about what I consume,,, well old Oedipus will get the better of me. But if I read it in context, I realize this is an upbraiding of some silly vestiges of ancient “kosher” style eating rules. Jesus is railing against the Pharisees who were condemning Him for letting his posse eat without ritualistically washing their hands. (I dare say if we are hiking and someone takes my drinking water to “washup” they are dead meat.) 11 does not give me carte blanche to be a swine.

That is an awesome lesson.

Some of man's laws seem strange

But following the laws is important, man made even. “Obedience of the law, is the greatest freedom” , Lincoln. Buddhists espouse that an attainment of Shila, which can be called personal discipline, makes any man made laws literally irrelevant. If you think about it, being a good person does in fact make laws kind of obsolete. And when they seem to be adverse, rethink it real quick.

7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
8 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'"
10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, "Hear
and understand:
11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the
mouth, this defiles a man."

This so strange my young'n decided to rip out the sign

Choose carefully which Law

A good friend of my family passed away due to a sporting accident. This man was actually a brain surgeon and leaves behind a good family. He was one of those special men, that I never heard a bad word about. He was a example of a righteous man. Now there are members of my family that do not much believe in God and certainly not the Holy Spirit. To them there is no passing just a finale. To them there is just an emptiness where once there was life. I am certain to them they are following the laws of man, which is perfectly acceptable to them. That is alright. But quite sad.

I am glad I have God’s Law to hold onto and have faith in. If that is a crutch it is by far the best crutch ever made.

Gone but not forgotten

I know this fellow just passed away, there will not be an end yet to his cycle of life.

I always say, religion has gotten us into a mess. Doctor law is there to diagnose our problem of sin to tell us we need a new heart and our nature changed but he has no cure. He is a very mean stern individual who demands we meet his requirements. Doctor Grace comes in finds us in our mess and gives us the operation and after the operation, he introduces us to our donor who gave us a new heart. Thank God for John :16 and 17.
