For a Temporary Pleasure

For a Temporary Pleasure

Does everything have a price? Yes. Be it hidden or in plain sight, you have to give in order to get. The Bible narrates a picture of the first woman created Eve, contemplating a beautiful fruit she was forbidden to have. What made it so tempting? The fact that it was unattainable? Was it appealing to the eye? Was it what she waged she would receive in return? Truth is we make this simple choice on a day to day basis. We see things that seem attractive to us. Sometimes we jump into opportunities while at other times we wage consequences. Everything has a price, and what may seem to be appealing at the time may have deteriorating effects later. Life is full of choices, big and small. How do you make yours? I would like to bring to consiousness the thought processes that help us make a decision. Is what we desire truly beneficial for us? What are the consequences of having attained them? Will they bring consequences in the long run that I will want to avoid later? How many of us have events in our lives we would like to go back and change? No matter how much we wish we could, whats done is done. The only way to change in the past is to alter the present. If a temporary pleasure brings consequences in our lives we will later want to change, then its not worth having. To practice restraint is not a sign of weakness but rather a sign of power. Be empowered today. Change your future by selecting your present.
