Ricardo Cardinal Vidal was his final name because when he was ordained priest he was 25 years old.

He was the 2nd Archbishop of Cebu in Cebu Province

Cardinal Vidal's ministry and his leadership

Here are his ministries when he was still alive:

All his ministries can be seen in other websites and we have the same results and findings including the years of his life.

From 1965 to 1971, he became the spiritual director of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Seminary in Sariaya, Quezon.

He also helped found the Catechist Missionaries of St. Theresa, a Catholic religious order.

He was a Coadjutor Bishop of Malolos, Bulacan Province in 1971 and he was consecrated bishop by Archbishop Carmine Rocco, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines.and also Titular Bishop of Claternae from 1971 up to 1973 for 2 consecutive years.

He was an Archbishop of Lipa from 1973–1981 in Lipa City, Batangas Province for 8 consecutive years.

He became the Coadjutor Archbishop of Cebu, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Cebu, and parish priest of the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral in 1981.

He was installed and appointed as the Archbishop of Cebu on August 24, 1982. Three years later, in year 1985, he was elevated to the College of Cardinals at the Vatican by Pope John Paul II who is now a Saint. I also place a photo of Pope john Paul II who is now a Saint.

He was President of the Catholic bishop Conference of the Philippines or known as the CBCP from 1986 to 1987 and he became Chairman of the CBCP-Episcopal Commission on the Clergy in 1989. He was also appointed as the Federation of Asian Bishop's Conferences Convenor of the Standing Committee from 1985 to 1994 and that is 9 consecutive years . He was a delegate to the Synod on Reconciliation in 1983 , the Extraordinary Synod in 1985, the Synod on Priests in 1991, and the Synod on Religious Life in 1994, and also served as President Delegate at the 1989 Synod on the Laity. He was also a member of the Permanent Council of the Synod from 1989 to 1994 that is 5 consecutive years . He posts in the Roman Curia that is included memberships in the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, the Congregation for Catholic Education, and the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers.

People must know that he actively involved himself in political and socio-economic issues of Cebu and the whole Philippines. He also intervened in labor strikes that hit Cebu industries in the mid 80's and 90's, he also took a role in negotiations with rebel forces in Central Visayas, he also brought Mother Teresa of Calcutta, she is now a Saint to Cebu.

For me Vidal is the news source in the whole Cebu province because he remained in the news during his resignation, there are also times that there was a controverisal issue of pardoning of former President Joseph Estrada who faced plunder charges in 2007 under the leadership of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. This is proven 100% that Vidal is the news source who gave out information or ideas in the media because the people need their own decisions so that they could have each opinion.

In year 2000, he created the Catholic Mass Media Award, given every two years to outstanding mass media programs and Catholics encouraging good journalism and heroic witness to Church teaching, regarding the dignity of human life.

He also issued a series of pastoral letters against the evils of population control, artificial contraception and anti-life bills. In year 2004 ,he announced latae sententiae which means automatic excommunication for doctors, nurses or midwives who perform sterilizations despite warnings from the Church.

He was one of the cardinal electors who participated in the 2005 papal conclave that elected Pope Benedict XVI in the Vatican and he is the only Filipino Cardinal to do so travel in Vatican, due to Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin's poor health.

His Resignation as Archbishop of Cebu

His resignation as an Archbishop of Cebu was accepted and approved by Pope Benedict XVI on October 15, 2010 and he was replaced by Archbishop Jose S. Palma of Palo, Leyte who was enthroned on January 13, 2011.

I place a photo of Pope Benedict XVI so that the subject will matched in this article.

His health

In his retirement, he lived in Sto. Niño Village in Cebu City that is located in Central Visayas Region. Even if he already resigned, he also continued presiding at Masses and attending events organized by the Archdiocese of Cebu. He underwent a Coronary Angiogram procedure and had a pacemaker installed in year 2004. He experienced a mild stroke on September 23, 2013. He was confined to the hospital multiple times beginning in 2014 for pneumonia. He was confined in a hospital on May ,2017 due to the same illness.

His death

He died at the Perpetual Succour Hospital in Cebu City at 7:28 a.m. that is Wednesday morning dated October 18, 2017.

The cause of his death is sepsis.

His death sparked an outpouring of grief and remembrance from the Cebuano people who are faithful whom he served for 29 consecutive years as a Cebu Archbishop since 1982.

He was buried on Thursday that is October 26, 2017 and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte issued Proclamation no. 333 declaring Cebu as special non-working holiday for Vidal's burial.

There are two (2) photos in which I place it after my paragraph to show in the public that my article is match to the subject.

His Recognition after his resignation

After his resignation in October 2010, he did not expect that he will be given a recognition from the Senate of the Philippines and the House of Representatives.

On December 07, 2010 the Senate of the Philippines recognized his service to Cebu by Senate Resolution No. 306: "It is resolved by the Senate, to honor Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, Archbishop of Cebu, for his service to the people of Cebu, providing spiritual leadership and inspiration, helping the community avert or survive several crises and conflicts, often acting as a peacekeeper and giving the voice of moderation amid clashing views and interests in local and national issues."

This followed recognition by the House of Representatives through House Resolution 593.

Nor are there any priests or nuns or what they call saints (in the age in which we live the saints are those that belong to Christ, )the real sons of God. There is no connection to God in the silly little images of their so called saints because God tells His people to avoid all such things The pope and the priests usurp the place of Christ and God. Catholicism and ALL other denominations and other things that divide the people searching for God are not Christian they are the of antichrist, agents of satan.

You clearly are a churchman (a follower of the doctrines of men) and not a disciple of Christ.repent of your false beliefs and be born again and filled with the Holy Spirit of God

To all Catholics, as you can observed the whole content of my article there is no Bible verse because the word Archbishop was not mentioned in the Bible although for the Catholic, they have this kind of position.
