Generation of the Lost

Updated on January 16, 2014

for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” Luke 19:10

We are in a generation of the “lost”, the generation of me and my children.  In the beginning “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26.  Let us make man in our image….that statement is very strong.  In our image means to raise our children up in God’s image, believing in Christ, knowing what is important and that is living God’s word.  It is important for our children to know the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven so that they too can go out and proclaim to the world the word of God, the things that Christ did in order for us to live in eternal Heaven.  If the youth of today do not know the word then they will not be able to go out and share the Gospel, the Living Bible.

I believe that God wants a Revival, a revival of a generation to bring light into the world, to save the lost and leave no one behind.  In the Bible there is a Parable of the Lost Sheep Matthew 18:12-14 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.  Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish”  We cannot leave anyone behind.  It is not God’s will for people to not know Him, He wants us all to find people who are lost and bring them to Him, to take dominion over the land and take back what is the Kingdom of Heaven.  To snatch power away from Satan to take back the land that God Himself created.

In Acts 13:36-38 “For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption; but He whom God raised up saw no corruption. Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins”  David died but he served the purpose for his own generation, it is said there is a book in Heaven that records all the acts that we have done in our lives because our names are written in Heaven for bringing people to know Christ, it is the will of God. Luke 10:20 “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” As seen in Acts, David had all recorded in which he did for his generation.  What do you want the book to say about you in Heaven?  I want what was recorded for David and what was recorded for so many other nameless people who became heroes to God to be written in the book in Heaven.

I believe that God is raising up people who will burn with the Holy fire that will ignite the revival needed with holiness and passion for Christ and the demonstration of power of signs, wonders and miracles of the earth will be present.  This will stir up the hearts of man and prepare the way for the 2nd coming of Christ.  Whenever God wants to show up he will use us as his vessels to rise up the prophetic voices to prepare the way for His coming. ““ And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions” Joel 2:28 “I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “ And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved” Joel 28*-32* (*used half of each of the first and last scripture)

Are you ready for the coming of Christ, are you ready for a revival? Teach your children the ways of the Lord as he has commanded and go out and preach the Good News.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.  The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you” Philippians 4:8-9

Interesting, thanks for your response. I think that it is important for us to ask these questions and then seek answers for them. For it is in our asking and seeking that we truly find God.

@ bfbracken, in a sense He already knows what is going on down here as God knows the end before the beginning, every hair on our head is counted and he knew us in our mother's womb, I too have fought that thought in my mind and asked my pastor why if God knows that someone will fall away or not know him, would he send them in the first place and what he had told me was that it is not God's will for anyone of us to fall away or not know Him it is our free will that we are given that takes us on the paths we choose to follow. People can hear His voice the voice of His holy spirit, I know when I sin I immediately feel condemned of my sin and fall to repentance but there are people out there that ignore that and continue on the wrong path. It is up to us to listen or not listen. Having the heart that Jesus has and God has we are able to feel the sorrow for the lost, I am sure in God's heart that feeling is completely magnifide beyond any strength we can begin to imagine. The good thing is though that even those who live a sinful life and choose before their time is up that they want to know God and accept Jesus as their saviour and truly mean it from their heart that God has such an unconditional love for us that we are forgiven only truly from in our hearts. Then again great is our reward in Heaven for living the way of Christ throughout our lives. I intend to do my best while I am here so that when I get to Heaven I can say to God that I used everything he gave me...we have to learn to recieve His supply that he is holding in front of us to do this God has such an abundant supply of everything that we need to live a full life on the narrow path to life, we need to reach out and take that supply from Him, it is neverending and abundantly offered always.

Would Jesus ever want to return to a world full of war, famine, greed, and tyranny? I sometimes wonder how He would feel knowing that His gospel of peace, love, and forgiveness has been used to support the aforementioned evils.
