I remember reading somewhere that reptiles may be a bit more intelligent than once thought. They have done intelligence tests designed for reptiles on certain species of turtles and lizards and the turtles and lizards were able to learn how to solve the challenges given to them in the tests. They also learned that heat has something to do with reptile intelligence. They believe that heat may somehow be able to make reptiles smarter. Because of this it is believed by some scientists that global warming may actually be slowly making reptiles smarter.

I wonder if this could have any effect on how big reptiles get because during the age of the dinosaurs reptiles grew to gigantic sizes. I believe that if heat can make reptiles smarter maybe it can effect how big reptiles get.

What\'s really amiznag is that the pool attendants chased the snake. If they\'d been as smart as he was, they would have simply dipped the net into the pool and watched him exit from the far corner. Mission accomplished! Larry

as far as i am concerned, i have been a great wildlife lover since childhood..have read and seen so much about different creatures some of which are mysterious in their own ways..its proved that anacondas are the largest snakes in the world..but these facts are just what mankind has been able to find out..don't forget that earth is a huge, huuuge planet with many possibilities hidden in it..."Anacondas 2" was a badly directed acted and screenplayed movie..but what interested me in the movie was the concept of the snakes' ever growing size..who the hell knows..it might be possible.explorers dont dare to go deep inside these dense jungles.there might be some possibilities of the existence of creatures like these.this might be a photoshoped pic,but i don't give up the thought of the possibility of the existence of such a creature a bit..who knew that one day we would find a live GIANT SQUID in the deep abyss of the oceans.now with new technology its been seen.so, all the wildlife lovers, jus enjoy this pic and imagine the hugeness of this creature..

this snake is out of this world large!!! in case people haven't noticed this is from a helicopter with this huge monster snake covering half of that river. my estimation over 100 ft. because they have 40 ft pythons in africa and 40 foot anacondas in brazil...this snake is too big!

Good morning, Ingenira. Thanks for coming to this hub and give your opinion about this topic. And I give many thanks for your correction about my spelt. In Indonesia we use "Serawak". But I'll correct this with "Sawarak" like you said before. Personally, I can't imagine if I met this snake. Have a great day. Take care!

I think I used to take boat in this river before many many years ago when I was still a student. It'd be scary to imagine a giant snake in this river.

BTW, I think the 'Serawak' is supposed to be spelt "Sarawak".

After a close look at it, it looks like a boat cruising in the river. Just my perspective.

Anyway, interesting hub. It sure captured my attention. :)

Whether this is real or not, there certainly are large snakes in the world and as Ben Zoltac said, the fact that legends have been passed on regarding large snakes means that at one time something certainly inspired its origin. I shy away from snakes even in our garden. I know that they are good, but would rather not run into them when I am weeding or walking around. I do a fast retreat!

FAKE old PIC that has been around of over 4 years now. Plus there is "Kalimantan Island". The Island is Borneo.

Also look like the PIC has been photoshop look at the tree and the size of the wake.

Been there looking for snakes for over 6 years now.

That's pretty awesome! I wish to see what it REALLY looks like.. but be carefull.. for all we know it could be a endangered species. Or there could be more of them.. we will never knowwwwwwww

Or maybe something happened to a regular snake and got bigger.. thanks to these little experiment/chemical/animal testing.. whatever crap.

I had to laugh at one of the original comments. If this were a real snake, it'd likely be a new species. A new species discovered and all he/she can think about is hunting it. Lovely :(

People, The picture is a fake. What you have there is a bad photoshop job. Take a look at the snake swimming. As if the fake wake wasn't a dead giveaway (look at the color of the water before and after the fake wake). Another giveway is the "wake" itself is too far back from the head. It would have started just behind the head and frankly, you really wouldn't see a "wake" just a slight disturbance in the surface of the water, and not visible from that altitude. Take this photo back and photoshop again and then try to scare people, losers.

I believe this has already been a proven fake. Ill try to track down the site I saw it on. And why would you hunt it down an kill it? Why must we kill what we fear or dont understand? Snakes are far more afriad of you then you are of them.

What I think is that I don't have enough information to be certain either way. Pictures like this can be faked but sometimes aren't fake. So my mind is open. It's interesting how often people expect everyone to decide immediately "this is real" or "this is a hoax" on too little information. I don't believe or disbelieve cryptozoology stories. I just find them amusing.
