God Always Cries Alone

Updated on February 20, 2015

God Aways Cries Alone

God stood on the mountain top,

as he would hear the mortals call,

the moonlight begins to flicker

and the snow begins to fall,

the spirits would moan,

the angels would roam,

as the mortals cry together,

but God always cries alone,

the fog was light,

and the air was thin,

the snowflakes melt,

as it touches God’s skin,

he would fear,

that the mortals would be forever

savages and primitive there,

he would fight off great pains

as his children continued

tirelessly living through hurricanes,

fever, floods, and plagues,

and then war had its impact,

but God’s dream remained intact,

by a tenacious, collective will,

for now his dreams stood still,

he would embrace,

the prayers, the cries, the children,

and the mortal race,

the humans were problematic,

but never a disgrace.

Ditto everything above. This is a beautiful poem and nice to hear one from God's viewpoint. God cries alone - we never stop to think about it from "His" perspective. As a human race we are still trying to figure it all out aren't we?

Oh Frank, how do I express what I feel?

This is just wonderful. It has a mythic quality to it. My eyes are overflowing with tears... not of sadness, but tears of gratitude, of hope, of recognition of the immensity of the gulf between man and God and the efforts to which He has gone to bridge that gulf.

I am given to spontaneous tears whenever I read or hear something that strikes me as "right and true." Not true in the factual sense, but True in a spiritual sense.

To me, certain stories and myths and fables (parables in the scriptures, another example) are not factually true, but in the greater sense of the word they reflect something, teach us something that is "True."

There are things in CS Lewis fiction that are that kind of True and I instantly weep when I read them, but not because I am sad. That is how I felt when I read this poem. Excuse the many words; it is hard to express properly. Thank you. Theresa

Another amazing piece of work! I so appreciate having the opportunity to have met you even if it was not in person.

I looked at God and wanted to emulate his love in my own parenting. I wanted to be that forgiving, that faithful, that supportive, that loving, and that constant. I have been trying for 9 years and if you met my girl, she is so loving and different. I had the same goal for my marriage. I can only hope that showed enough in the 3 short years that we were marriage.

I have to say that agape love was not meant for us to obtain down here as mere humans but it is so satisfying and humbling just to even try for it.

      As usual, LOVE your hub!
