God Is In The Details

Updated on September 28, 2009

Have you ever stopped to think about just how "into" our lives, God is?  Have you stopped to think just how AWESOME it is to have the King of Kings personally interested in li'l ol' you?  The Creator of the universe cares about the well-being of each of us!  He causes things to happen for our good right down to the minute.  And He keeps us out of harm's way by seconds.  I have seen this happen in my life and my family's, many times.  He gives us beauty to behold every second of every day.  I am a gargantuan fan of God's handiwork in what we call "nature".   But that is a whole 'nother article for another time.

No matter what is going on in my life - I can most assuredly make any day more pleasant by making a conscious effort during the day to see God's hand in the smallest of details  - and THANK HIM when I do.  Just because you may not have had the time or opportunity to develop this habit doesn't make you less of a Christian  - but I promise you that your walk with God will be made more meaningful if you will learn to "look for God".

When you get up in the morning - that's a biggie right there, you lived through the night! Some people didn't.  Thank God,  you did.  Look out the window - God's all around you, whatever the weather.  Food in the house?  Have or ever had a spouse who loves / loved you?  Family / children who care for you?  Neighbors and friends?  Lost somethig that you treasured and then found it again?  Have you ever left home for work a little late - and then maybe the traffic was light, and  you were still able to get to work on time? Have you been at the right place just at the right time to see a rainbow?  Or an especially colorful sunset?  All these are the types of things in which I can see God.

I believe that God uses things like this as a way of communicating His closeness to us.  I always am sure to tell my children - and they are adults - that I love them, each time I talk to them.  I do things as often as possible for them that I think will bring them joy.  And I think it is the same way with God.  He communicates His love for us in countless ways every day.  In the same way that we want our children to receive and appreciate what we do for them - God wants that from His children, also.  We owe it to Him to acknowledge what He does for us.

If you are not as close to God as you would like to be - or you're a long - time Christian who doesn't feel God's presence the way you used to - I urge you to try looking for God in every day occurrences.  You will experience a renewed closeness to Him - as well as a new appreciation for life.  I promise  you - God is in the details!!

He sure is in the details. Even in the most unlikely places of our lives.

      Thanks for sharing!
