What Does God Say About Money?

This is a major controversy in the body of Christ today. The concept of God and riches. Many believe that it is Godly to be poor. You're closer to Jesus if you don't have any money. Preachers with money are hypocrites. These are all popular ideas. Let's set the record straight. Money is not evil. The love of money is evil, which is 1 Timothy 6:10. Jesus had no problem with money. Jesus's ministry was well funded which is Luke 8:1-3. The problem with the rich young ruler was that he loved money more than God. God does not have have problem with you having money he has a problem with money having you. I mean God paves his streets with Gold which is Revelation 21:21. He has no lack of finances.

The fact of the matter is that the ministry takes money. Sharing the Gospel that Jesus loves you, died for you and rose again; takes money to translate it, preach it, ship it, send people, build a church etc. The man or woman working in the full time ministry should get paid so they can concentrate on the ministry. If a minister has a multi million dollar home but never gives anything away then yes there would be grounds to say he is a hypocrite. The ministry takes money. Imagine if the pastor didn't have to beg for money at offering time. Imagine if missionaries didn't have to make slide shows and a video and send out 500 letters to raise support? What if christians were believing for money? What if they were tithing? What if they were giving? What if we were good stewards of our money? Then local outreaches would be well funded, churches could keep full staff and have the equipment they need, missions could concentrate on the ministry instead of fundraising! Orphanages, hospitals, churches, food banks and more could be built without a fuss. Being a blessing to someone in need takes money. How do you get the money? I'm glad you asked because God has a fundraising campaign.

It takes money to reach people!
It takes money to reach people!
It takes wealth to be a blessing.
It takes wealth to be a blessing.

Great Message on Finances

Malachi 3:10New International Version (NIV) 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

Giving is God's fundraising campaign. The Bible informs us to give a tenth part of our income to the Lord. It's His anyway. Tithing is a form of worship and obedience that opens the flood gates of Heaven. The Bible also says, Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38 KJB. The Bible also says in Proverbs 10:22, The blessing of the LORD establishes wealth, and difficulty does not accompany it. God loves to give and be a blessing to his children. How many of us are sewing into the Kingdom and if so are we standing on His promises for blessing? God loves a giver with a good attitude not one who offers it begrudgingly. He knows the heart and he will bless the cheerful giver. Generosity is not unnoticed by your Father.

Stewardship is the Other Key to Wealth and Being a Blessing

God ask us to be good stewards with what He has given. Your income, invested wisely and stewarded wisely is your key to wealth building. Be wise with the money you have. Stay out of debt and invest wisely. Wealthy people buy out of their overflow and invest with the rest. Jesus taught about investing with the parable about the three servants in Matthew 25:14-30. One was trusted with five coins and raised it to 10. One was given two and raised it to four. The last was given one coin and buried it. His was taken away from him and given to the one who had 10. Bloom where your planted and use wisely the gifts and money that God has given you. Dave Ramsey always says to live now like no one else so later you can live like no one else. Sacrifice now so that later you can have nice things and be able to be a blessing.

Romans 2:4 KJV Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
