Going Beyond The World's Timetable

Going Beyond The World's Timetable

"As for me, I look to the Lord for His help. I wait confidently for God to save me and my God will certainly hear me."

Micah 7:7

More than anybody else, more than anything else our hope is in the Lord alone. We should rest completely our confidence upon the Lord. We should wait patiently upon Him for He will surely come to help us. We may be encountering struggles for a long time now. We should be willing to commit our struggles to the Lord. And wait for His perfect time for deliverance. We must trust His wisdom for it is perfect.

In waiting upon the Lord we may go beyond this world's timetable. The world has its own timetable for its subjects. At 21, you are expected to graduate from your bachelor's degree. At 25=30, you should have joined the young professional's world and seriously considering to enter marriage. At 40, you must be already earning a six-digit income and very much established in your chosen field of endeavor. In waiting upon the Lord we may not meet the expectations of the world, in our forties we may still find ourselves as spinsters or bachelors or even our career is still dangling.

But these things should not dishearten us because we are children of the Living God whose works are not bounded by time. As Christians we are not living by sight, we are living by faith and we should never depend upon the world's timetable. God has reserved His best for us. It is just alright to go beyond the world's timetable as long as we are in the center of the will of God rather than meeting the world's timetable but living outside the perfect will of God.

God has a perfect time for everything and He makes everything beautiful in its own time. Trust His excellent wisdom.
