- My Son, a Musician, Artist and Poet, yet He Does not Know It!
My son is a musician, artist and poet, but he does not realize just how gifted he is at all three talents. His poetry is a lot different than mine, as you will read.
Change of Seasons
Early one morning, I awoke to a room filled with brilliant sunlight. Startled, thinking I had over slept. However, when I looked at the digital alarm clock with its bright red numbers, it was only 5:36 a.m. Relieved that I had not over slept, I continued my day as usual.
The very next morning, the same thing happened. I awoke, startled thinking, once again, I had over slept because my room was filled with brilliant sunlight. When I looked at the clock, it was 5:36 a.m. This went on for three weeks! I woke up at precisely 5:36 a.m. every day for three weeks.
After the first three days, I realized that I had not over slept, but the sun was rising earlier due to the change of seasons. Little did I know, it was truly going to be a change of seasons for me in my life. However, when I did get around to looking at the clock, it was always 5:36 a.m.
In the back of my mind, I kept thinking that was strange. It was not until I said it out loud to my husband that I thought it was strange for the past three weeks, I had been waking up at precisely 5:36 a.m. Finally, at that very moment, I thought, maybe the Lord was trying to tell me something.
So, that morning, during my morning time alone with the Lord, I asked Him to reveal to me what it was, if anything, He wanted to tell me. If, indeed, was it that He wanted to reveal something from His Word, as there are a lot of 5:36 verses in His Word. So He would just have to show me. I sat down and opened my well-worn Women's Devotional (NIV) Bible, with the pages falling apart, and it opened to the Gospel of Mark and I saw verse 5:36. My eyes blinked back tears, as I saw the sweetest five little words in red of Jesus, right there, jumping off the page at me. "Don't be afraid; just believe." I thought how precious of the Lord to tell me such sweet words.
I did not realize at the time that He was preparing me for the one of the biggest trials of my life. Throughout that whole trial, I always remembered His sweet words to me to not be afraid; just believe. I did just that. I was never afraid and always believed that He was working all things out for good, as He promises in His word. He did just as He promises. Praise Him! To God be the glory!
The great trial was concerning my son who was suffering with the terrible disease of addiction as a teenager, and I was never afraid. His promises are true, as He has worked all things out for good.
Through much prayer, spiritual warfare and God's mercy and grace, my son has been sober for over six years now (2013), prior to his three children being born. To God be the glory! Praise Him for He is so faithful.

The following song is one of my new favorites. I just recently heard it on the radio. Please enjoy!
We are always asking the Lord to bless us, when really we should bless the Lord.
