In Rutherford County N.C. there is the story of Virgina Walker who at age 11 had one of the best documented haunting experiences ever. A ghost started to visit Virginia every night and would wake the young girl up and try to get her to follow it. Now while any young girl could come up with a ghost story this story has some twists you have to see and hear. If you're into the paranormal and ghosts you will want to hear this story. And we have it set up on its own hub page for you to watch and enjoy.

Now lets go back to Black Beard whose real name by the way was Edward Teach. Black Beard lived a wild Pirate lifestyle and most if not all people know the story of Black Beard. He was said to be one of the most evil men who ever lived and he died the way he lived. In the end he was hunted down and a bloody fight ensued. However this time the odds were stacked against Black Beard and he and most of his men were killed. Black Beards head was cut off and hung from the bowsprit of the victorious Maynard's ship. Black Beards body was thrown overboard and that is where the first strange thing happened. Maynard and his men claimed the body of Black Beard swam around their ship three times before it vanished beneath the waves. And ever since then people have been seeing the ghost ship of Black Beard along North Carolina's outer banks and from time to time people in the small towns along the outer banks claim to see the ghost of Black Beard. Maybe he's still looking for his head.

So I took several pictures inside Cedar Grove one night very late. I really felt uncomfortable and swore someone tapped my back but my Husband and friends convinced me that it was in my mind. However, looking back through the pictures, I believe what they hold is scary and shocking. This place is haunted.

I have a paranormal group based in the foothills of North Carolina. I myself have seen the Brown Mountain Lights myself. One year before I statrted P.I.C.S. I went with a group of friends & we began to see the lights. We saw 1 lone light on top of a hill next to Brown Mountain. I forgot the name of the slave man, but we called it's name from the legend & the light started moving toward us. We also saw a group of lights on another hill & thought about the soldiers that had died on Brown Mountain. We also had heard the legend of the soilders' wives going out & looking for their husbands, but never found them. They are still seen as a group of yellow lights that form a single file line on the mountain to this day. Anyway after about 15 minutes of seeing the soldiers' lights, we began to see a single file line of yellow lights begin to show on top of Brown Mountain itself. We called out to what we came to believe were the soldiers' wives lights & said to them that there husbands were over on the hill to their left. Once we told them that they began to go excatly where we had & still were seeing the soldiers' lights. The slave man legend is said that the slave man is supposed to show as a lone red orange light away from all of the light.
