Have You Ever been Amazed At Children?

Updated on January 11, 2013

Have You Ever Been Amazed At Children?

Have you ever been amazed at the things

They seem to have stored in their brain?

At the things they seem to recall instantly

Seemingly with never a thought or strain.

Their brain has such ample storage space

To store many of life's treasures every day.

So many of the gifts of the Heavenly Father

Will forever find a precious place to stay.

But as we grow older we often fill the space,

Sometimes with too many senseless things.

With all of the things that Satan tosses in

And all of the sorrow that it always brings.

By the time that we reach our senior years

Our brain at times seems filled to the top.

Often then the memories of our daily living

Just pass on by ,there is no place to stop.

If only we could save those precious gifts

That He has sent for us all along the way

We could enjoy only the good memories,

We could truly feast on them every day.

One of the saddest things of older years,

Are searching for memories that are lost.

We filled our brains with useless thoughts,

Never did we realize how great the cost !

Now so many random come into my brain,

I know I should be sound asleep in my bed.

So many thoughts of a long ago yesterday

Come into my mind to keep me awake instead.

God has given us a brain to fill with great love,

And he has given us great moments to recall.

Just toss out ones that Satan put in their place.

Then God's gifts ?you'll have room for them all !

It is such a pleasure to watch the little ones,

they are so sweet and innocent and you

just want to hold them and protect them

from life's trials and cares We know that

we can't but we just have to pray that

The Lord will guard and protect them all

the days of their lives .We will have to

leave them in His Hands to protect them!

Thank you, North Wind for your comment, sometimes I wonder if I am doing any good here and then I get a nice message from you like you just sent and it makes me feel that maybe I am helping a little , The Lord wakes me up at night lots of times so I get busy and write . I get the first line or two and then I finish it from there .A girl told me the other day she likes a certain poem , I told her there is a message in there.I hope I can get that message across in the poems. Thank you .clara

I am amazed at children everyday. I think of their minds as a whiteboard that still has room to be written on. My whiteboard got filled with things I did not want to be there and that happens because most of the world does not care what influence it has on the next generation.

Thanks fully there are some older ones who write the words of truth on the whiteboard of children's minds and so that word stands out and cancels the negative, horrors of this world and gives hope of the one to come.

May the Lord continue to bless you and keep these lovely poems coming!
