Healing Christian Harp Music

Updated on October 27, 2017

"Music is God's gift to man, the only art of Heaven given to earth; the only art of earth we take to Heaven"

Walter Savage Landor

Ancient Music Healing

If there is one thing that is universal, it is music.

It is the expression of man’s emotions, thoughts and creativity weaved in beautiful harmony that feeds the distressed soul to bring healing.

Since ancient times, the therapeutic properties of music was used in many cultures all over the world where modern medicine and medical technology was non-existent. For example, Pythagoras (circa 500 BC) of ancient Greece used and taught music healing, calling his music healing method “music medicine”.

Harp Music Healing

One such healing music is healing Christian harp music. The harp produces a calm, soothing and gentle sound when plucked by the fingers. Listening to these sounds brings healing.

In the Bible, the harp as a musical instrument and its use has been in existence as early as Genesis 4:21. Thereafter, we read of harp music being used for worship, healing, prayer, meditation, personal devotion, warfare and connection with the Divine Being and the universe.

The most famous Bible story is David, as a shepherd boy, playing his harp to bring emotional healing and deliverance from tormenting spirits for King Saul.

Today, more people are using music healing for both physical and emotional problems.

Healing Christian harp music is being used in hospitals and health care centres as therapeutic music with many testimonies of healing and recovery enhanced by healing sounds of harp music. Hospitals have therefore accepted music healing to be used for patients alongside modern medicine.

I have personally benefited from the healing power of harp music myself and if there's any healing music I'd recommend, it would be Christian harp music.

The Healing Sounds of God's Harps

I believe God is the author of music and He has given music as a gift to man.

God created man and He knew what man needed. God Himself is our Creator and Healer and He has also created healing from the harp just like plants that have healing properties in their leaves.

God also gave harp music for healing, harmony with nature and connection to God Himself. The healing sounds of harp music also bring peace and tranquility to man's soul so he can live in harmony with one another.

The healing power of the harp music heals because the harp is heaven’s musical instrument and with the Holy Spirit anointing the fingers that pluck the strings and breathing upon the sound energy that it creates, God Our Healer is at work through the harp music. The healing from the harp music is heavenly.

God, by His grace, has allowed man to see what happens in heaven. The following scriptures from the Book of Revelation show that harp is a heavenly instrument, too. When Christian harp music is played with anointed fingers, God works through the sound waves to bring healing to the body, soul and spirit.

  • Revelation 5:8 (NKJV): “Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints”.
  • Revelation 14:2 (KJV): “And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps”.
  • Revelation 15:2: “And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, [and] over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God”.

A Poem About the Healing Power of Harp Music

O harp, the most ancient of the stringed

You gracefully sing when fingers anointed with oil touches you

Setting to flight my fears and anxieties

Blessed are the fingers that awakens you

Transmitting the breathe of the Almighty

Your touch is so gentle and calm

Your lyrical strains weave my strained emotions with sweet melody

You breathe peace and tranquility into my soul

Your breeze graces me with waves of healing

Healing my body, my soul, reviving my spirit

In gentleness lies your strength and power.

You gently caress my heart with serene love

Melting away every pain

With love so divine directly from the Author of love

You feed my thirsty soul with the waters of the sanctuary

You color my life with rainbow amidst all storm

I humbly surrender my life

As you connect me with my Divine Source

As He skilfully and wonderfully weaves my life again

      Hi Kejanny,

Bless you for your encouraging people to consider the harp as an instrument of worship. This is one of the most important facets of my ministry... www.propheticharp.com I'd like you to know about the new worship instrument that I have invented called the Harpella which glows with the colors of the rainbow as you play it. Check it out at www.harptronics.com You can see the Harpella in a video with a lovely interpretive dancer at http://youtu.be/Rc8tbX_gf50

Harps are interesting subject and you certainly proved that with this hub.

I 'm wondering if you shouldn't do a hub on other stringed instruments as well seeing how well you did this one.
