Healing from Thorn Wounds!

Updated on June 8, 2014

Healing Our Wounds

A great method for personal healing is to help others in the healing of their wounded souls. We must learn that we cannot always be on the receiving end of kindness but we must also be on the giving end. We must be willing to help others in need in a way that we are able. By this I mean if you are not able to donate in a financial sense; you must find another way to give beyond a monetary aide. I myself recently realized that because I am on a Disability Pension with limited financial funds does not mean that I cannot help others in need in a different way. I decided that I would try and do some volunteer work which I am going for some training for next Tuesday; I can honestly say I am looking forward to it. I know this will be a positive experience for me on so many different levels I can't begin to tell you. I need to do this not only to help others but it allows me to feel better about myself in knowing that I am doing good for others rather than feeling sorry for myself.

Natural High

I truly believe that it is better to give than to receive. It is such a "Natural High" when you look into the eyes of someone that you have helped out or pleased even in the most simple of ways. Perhaps something as simple as cooking a warm meal for someone in need of a meal. Even a simple thing like sending an e-card to someone just to let them know that they are in your thoughts and prayers. These seem like small gestures but they carry a strong powerful message in that the person receiving them matters. We feel good in knowing we are helping others in need; they will be grateful for our kindness causing this to be a win win situation all round.

We must Open the Gates of Communication

The fast paced world we live in today seems to be less caring by the day; people seem to be more distant and disconnected from each other. I see more people out on the public streets either plugged into some type of i-pod or clicking text messages on cell phones etc. Plugged in yet cut off from their immediate surroundings. I feel we must work on opening the gates of communication in order to help each other heal from the thorn wounds in our souls. The more closed off we become the harder it will become to communicate amongst ourselves in face to face conversations. Don't get me wrong I love my cell phone; but we all must make more of an effort to connect with our loved ones. I realize it isn't always possible to see them in the flesh but we can at least send them a nice email card or a phone call just to let them know they are in our hearts and thoughts.

Making Changes

We should try not to depend too much on our techno gizmos for connecting with friends and loved ones because you can't beat the live connection. I am guilty of not making a good enough effort to get together live with my loved ones and friends; I am acknowledging this because I do want to make changes for the better in this area. This is a personal thorn of mine that I would like to get rid of.

Windows to the Soul

When we look into the eyes (windows to the soul) we have a better idea of how our loved ones and friends are feeling. We have a better chance of picking up or sensing if something is amiss with them. Just by looking into someone's eyes we may be able to tell if they are in need of some type of support such as spiritual guidance.

I believe we are all in need of this at different times and amounts throughout our lives. We must unite together to help each other in ways that we are able. If we cannot support someone in the flesh we must use the means we have to communicate and support them. Let's get our messages to each other reminding each other that we are all loved by "Jesus" and take comfort in that especially during the extra hard times we may be facing in our fast paced world of today.

Helping Others in Need

Do you think the average person helps those less fortunate- financially or otherwise?

      Good morning Pamela-anne.

I agree. People need to disconnect from their elcrtonic toys and start personal connection again.

      God bless you.
